Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 8-7/8" x 8' New England White Pine:

Absolutely love these floors! We finished them in a golden bronze stain with 3 coats of poly and they turned out beautiful. All work was done by ourselves, not a professional, and they were easy to install. After reading reviews of unusable boards, we unfortunately ordered ALOT of extra flooring so we didn't have to order more later, which ultimately was not needed. We now have nearly 200 sq. feet left over. This is a "rustic" floor, if you are worried about knots and not being able to use those boards, these floors are simply not for you. Most knots appeared to be "filled" and smooth over by the manufacturer, bigger ones we simply used in closets or under areas we knew would be under beds or couches. All boards were EXTREMELY straight considering the size & width and all were in very good condition upon picking up. I would not hesitate to recommend these floors to anyone we know, just keep in mind these floors are designed to have "character" with a "rustic" look, and the unusable boards others complained of are apart of that. Knots are part of what Pine is, tough to avoid. If that's not for you, I would recommend an engineered or laminate product.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 8-7/8" x 8' New England White Pine:

After reading the reviews I was nervous about the amount of unuseable product we would get, but the product arrived in very good shape despite the "packaging" being pretty beaten up during shipping. We were able to use every board, and even the ones that had imperfections were only minor and we were able to work around them without any worries. We were going for a rustic, beach cottage look and painted our floors first with porch and floor paint, then installed them in our kitchen. We incurred a few grooves/gouges to the floor during installation from moving heavy appliances around, but I was able to "pop" them back out using a very hot iron and a wet cloth. The floors look great and feel very solid underfoot. We love them. The only reason why I gave the product only four stars is because it is a rustic look. If you're looking for perfection, this is not the product for you.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was extremely fast! I ordered the product on a Saturday afternoon and paid next to nothing for Fedex Freight ground delivery. They were delivered on Thursday!

Good quality flooring. A few boards (10% or so) cracked on the ends and not usable as 8' sections but totally enough to work with. Great for the rough / reclaimed. Price was excellent, delivery quick. I would order again for sure. The quality of the wood 4 out of 5.

I put this in my entire upstairs. It looks great, laid fairly easy. Only thing you have to watch for and look BEFORE you accept the order; look at the waffle(underside)of the board. I got two different types one with 1/2" grooves was great, one with 1 3/4" was HORRIBLE!!!! they were cupped warped really bad width was as far as 1/8" off in each packet. don't accept those bundles unless you want a really rustic looking floor.

Love the way this floor turned out. The millwork is not perfect, making it harder to install without cracks. Many factory edges were not square. However, with a little elbow grease and TLC, we have a beautiful floor. Just beware, this wood is SOFT. It will dent and mar, but that's the look we were going for in our 1850's farmhouse.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 8-7/8" x 8' New England White Pine:

We finished our entire guest house with this flooring--great room, studio, bedrooms, baths, entry, kitchen, everything. It is a soft wood so if you're looking for impenetrable, try stone. This floor will age with you. It's a unique look at a very affordable price.

One of my favorite parts: the knots hide dirt. So even though it's a lighter wood which typically would show quite a bit of dirt, it all blends in with the beautiful knots. It's a great compromise for getting a lighter Scandinavian look with the practicality of everyday living. It's also a great compromise for my husband and I: I get a light-colored house, and he gets some knotty wood.

We did order about 20% extra material for waste. Had a decent amount left over, however, the extra material offered us a wider variety of board lengths. We took the time to pull out the long boards and used them in strategic locations. The rest we could use shorter boards for.

We sealed the pine with a water-based poly and could not be more pleased. Yes, it scratches and dents. We like to think of it as character: a record of our life here at the vineyard.

We put 900 sqr feet of this pine and another narrow width in a random pattern on the floor of the great room in our lake house. It looks fabulous! We were going for a rustic industrial look. We stained the pine a dark brown custom color with blue/gray undertones and topped it with 2 coats of satin urathane. It looks natural and weathered. The imperfections and knot holes are all part of the appeal.

                  Service and delivery comments:

I ordered off the website which inferred that the product was immediately available. Once I called the store to arrange pick up it was disappointing to learn that it had to be shipped on a train from a wharehouse somewhere else and that it would take over 2 weeks! Then it must sit and acclimate to the new environment for about a week prior to installation. Plan way ahead and perhaps call the local store for personal guidance. Once the bulk of the flooring arrived a miscellaneous trim piece was still on back order. It didn't come in and we made do with something we got at a hardware store. The return was as easy as a phone call to the local store. The guys at the local store were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful in every way.

They have been sanded but not to a finish grade, you would still need to sand before finishing.
You can use floor grade urethane or another good sealers for unfinished soft pines are penetrating natural oil types like Waterlox.

I enjoyed the We heart character photos of the new installation, but would like to get an idea what to expect- since this is the same finish I would like to use - a water based poly. A:

Unfinished pine may be finished with a myriad of different methods including floor paint, penetrating sealers, and color or white washing. The finish manufacturer instructions should always be followed.

Is it possible to float this floor over ceramic tile that is level and in good shape? Ideally, I would like to use the glue down method over a membrane. Can you suggest a few different options please:)

                        A:

Yes, however you may want opt for a natural tung oil penetrating sealer such as waterlox as these types of finishes expand and contact easier with the pine wood and can be easier to maintain.
