                A:

Butcher Block Mineral Oil is a safe way to keep your butcher block countertops, cutting boards, wooden serving trays and wooden bowls looking like new.
Protect the surface of your butcher block by applying a coat of Williamsburg’s food grade mineral oil monthly or as often as needed.
                1. Make sure the butcher block is clean and completely dry.
                2. Using a soft clean cloth wipe the oil over the entire butcher block.
                3. Wait 20 minutes for proper absorption and then wipe off any oil that did not penetrate into the surface of the block or wood surface.
                4. For new or worn surfaces, apply a second coat.
The use of this oil also helps prevent the wood from shrinking and cracking, a common occurrence with butcher blocks and other wood products used in food preparation.
Unlike vegetable oils, our Kosher certified, vitamin E enriched pure mineral oil effectively inhibits bacteria growth and provides longer lasting protection

Hello, I'm a little concerned about the glue used in between the wood pieces. What kind of glue do you use? Is it food poisoning? is there some sort of coating on the surface?

                A:

Yes, the butcher block is completely safe. During construction, wood strips are bonded together using a non-toxic, high-grade water soluble PVA adhesive used for many years in the wood industry.
