    Make sure that you store the wood floor in the area that it is to be install for 7 to 10 days before installing, after that start installing the floor, when we started to install the floor we found that it was very easy to install cause they were all the different size planks you would need to keep the seams at least 6" apart from the next, when you finish and area stop an look at the finish and you will be amaze at the beauty of this floor, if you were trying to find any down side to this floor, their isn't any, the only thing will be a down side is you install it bad, buy this floor and you will love this floor and everyone will be talking about it, cause when the floor was done, we had a small party and everybody was amaze of the floor and the exotic look it had and the beauty it projected, and the price was a bargain compared to the other floor retailer, good luck to you when you start to install your new floor. PS Take your time when you start your floor, we did more than a 1000 sq ft, Formal Living, Formal Dinning and Kitchen, again you won't go wrong with this floor. Hal

          I am having a problem keeping my floors clean. Each time someone walks across the floors, it leaves footprints. It looks great when I mop but the first time someone steps on it, footprints. Please help. I'm at my wits end. We just installed 1500 sq. ft. of this flooring.

            We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Thank you for your inquiry.

          one of walls that the flooring will be against is a floor to ceiling mirrored wall approx 9 ft long
          I plan on using spacers and then gluing the baseboard to the mirror. Will this work?

          I would like to install this in a basement over existing vinyl flooring. Will the vinyl act as the moisture barrier so that I can just lay this laminate directly over it? Also, I already have nice, thick baseboard moldings in this area. Is it best to pull them out, lay the laminate, and try to re-use or replace the baseboards, or just leave the baseboard then use a quarter round? If quarter round is recommended, would you typically use the color of the laminate or white like the baseboards? Thanks!!

            Considering the cost of our 6 mil poly moisture barrier ($19.99 for a 300 sq ft roll) I would recommend using it which will also allow you to protect the edges of the flooring by lapping it up the wall under the removed and replaced baseboards.

            What is an AC rating?
            The common term used to denote the durability level of laminate flooring is its, Abrasion Criteria or “AC” rating. AC ratings are an abbreviated representation of a laminate’s overlay film resistance to abrasion, impact, stains and cigarette burns. The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of furniture legs, castors, and swelling along its edges. When a laminate flooring product has a rating, then it has passed all of the test criteria. Failing just one test will disqualify a product.
            The AC rating levels are designated AC1 through AC5. Each is represented by international pictographs reflecting the product’s application and durability. The primary application is divided into two groups: residential and commercial. Each group is further divided into traffic intensity levels: moderate, general, or heavy. An AC1 rating which is the lowest should only be used in light-traffic area’s. At the other end of the scale is AC5 which is produced for the commercial market and for use in very high-traffic area’s. A laminate flooring rating of AC2 or AC3 is found on flooring tailored to the domestic and residential market. As can be seen, Laminate ratings are beneficial to customers for product comparison shopping. If you are tempted by some very cheap laminate flooring, be cautious, you may find that it hasn't received any type of AC rating indicating it failed to meet the minimum requirements. During product testing, if it fails on just one single test, then approval for that laminate flooring rating is denied. For residential use, a rating of AC3 is perfectly adequate. Typically the higher the laminate flooring rating, the higher the price may be.
            Hardwood is not measured in the same way. It is measured for hardness using the Janka hardness rating, and abrasion resistance using the Taber test.

            Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear and durability.
