First time doing flooring with no experience. Watched a youtube video and this was easy anyone can do it.

I used this to replace carpet in my basement. I turned the finished basement into a fan room/man cave. I think it looks great. It was fairly easy to install. This is the second room I have done with laminate flooring, and this one looks the best, by far!!

Installed the floor just over a year ago. Fairly easy to install and it looks great when done. However, we have had some complaints that would make me look at other options in the future.
Look out for any type of moisture being around this floor. Moisture gets into the cracks and starts to bubble the floor up. We have two kids and there are a couple spots where they left a juice cup laying on the floor, just a couple drops sitting there for a while will bubble the floor and its not an easy repair.
It it hard to keep clean. Due to the high gloss finish it shows everything, every foot print, hand print, paw print, you name it it will show.
It it fairly durable, the kids beat on it all time with toys and dog nails don't seem to scratch it. However, don't drop anything with a sharp edge or it will chip. During install I dropped a square from about 2 feet which left a nice ding.
It makes noise when walking on it. Not a lot of noise but little creaks and pops here and there. And yes, my floor was level when we did the install. Bare feet also like to stick to the floor just a bit (again high gloss floor) which makes noise when walking. Makes it hard to sneak up on the kids!
Over all we are satisfied with how the floor has performed so far. Keeping in mind that this was not very expensive flooring.

We are in love with this flooring. Great value. Much much better than the laminate flooring we got at a big box store. Installation is easy with this high quality flooring!!! And it is gorgeous!

LOVE it ....
as long as you use the Dream Home Spray cleaner there are no issues.
I love the look of these floors..But I would of not bought and installed them if I knew of all the smudges,footprints...It is imposible to keep smudge free....A really bad decision..Beware!!!

There were many damaged panels in the bundles, making it difficult to manage a production installation because of rework.

easy install, must be very careful not to mark flooring when moving furniture. Using Treadmill left scuff marks, have to use additional padding to prevent future scuffing.
Service and delivery comments:
employees very helpful
I picked up all of the products myself at my local lumber Liquidators store. I have a car, so I had to make two trips due to the weight of the materials. The job was completed in about 5 hours by two workers. I did all of the prep work, like cutting out the old carpet and pad, plus I took off all base board and repainted in base board. The product is layed in my living room, so far it's fantastic!!!

Q:
I purchased 12mm African Mahogany laminate with padding and I want to put into my living room which has concrete sub floor(on the ground). Since this laminate has padding on it, do I need underlayment, such as QuiteWalk underlayment, for good vapor barrier and sound control, or 6mil Poly Sheeting is good enough?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Laminate flooring with pre-attached padding does not require underpayment padding.Q:
I am requesting a recommendation for repairing a smal scratch / divit in my finished floor.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Minor chip or scratch damage to a laminate plank can be repaired with laminate repair kits and color-matched silicon/latex fillers. If the damaged area is larger than 1/2" of an inch, an entire plank can be replaced.Q:
Is this product water resistant? The bedroom has an ajoining bathroon.1 answer
A:
Yes it is water resistant, be sure to wipe up any water tracked onto floor promptly.Q:
I'm trying to figure out if I can fit 16 boxes of this into a Mazda 3 hatchback with the seats folded down. Does anyone know how long the boxes are? Thanks.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Pretty sure they are 48.43 x 11.61 x 3.54 inches. Please call our Sales Dept. @ (800) 476-0007 for box size, pricing and availability. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
If I install St.James 12 mm laminate floor on concrete on second floor. Do I still need a moisture barrier under the laminate floor?1 answer
A:
yes it would be recommended.Q:
We are looking to replace the carepeting in our family room that opens into the kitchen, so we are thinking about taking the flooring into the kitchen. Would this product be recommended for use in a kitchen? Also, we have two boys and pets. How hard is this flooring? Thanks1 answer
A:
This product question would be better answered by our Sales Department, they are more familiar with all of our flooring products and can better assist you with your questions.Q:
We want to put this product in our vacation home on a cement floor. We are worried about temperature swings as in the winter we turn the heat down to 55 and in the summer we turn the air up to 80 degrees. Would the temperature swings hurt the floor?1 answer
A:
Just like you, laminate flooring actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.Q:
My hallway has a 45 degree angle approximately 4 feet from the end. The bedroom off of the hall opens to this angle and we are installing the St. James laminate click flooring in that room as well as the hall. Can I butt joint the flooring so only the length of the pieces are clicked together? Or should I just run the hallway flooring in one direction and put in a T molding?1 answer
A:
I would run the hallway flooring in one direction and put in a T molding at the room doorway.Q:
I have just purchased two pallets of your St James Dream Home African Mahogany. As I was reading through the installation instructions I noticed that it states an expansion or T molding would be required if the width or length of the room exceeds 27 feet. I have a living room dining room that is 20' X 30' and a 4' X 50'+ hallway that we are installing the flooring in. What does the expansion piece look like? I really don't want to break up the flooring. What can I do?1 answer
A:
Thank you for writing in! I would be glad to help you with your questions.Q:
How many floor planks are in a box?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
These are random length and all boxes may not be the same.
