I love the way they look installed. Fantastic!! Very good quality. Even our handyman was impressed with them. It's a nice 12mm thick and has the pad attached. Easy to install. Would definitely get the same for our family room when our budget allows it.

I had went to several business before coming to Lumber Liquidator. I knew this was going to be the store I would make my purchase. There was no pressure to make a sale yet there to answer any questions I had and I like the prices. It took several visits to the store to decide what color I wanted. Finally decided on African Mahogany which actually turned out being the one I like the very first time I went to the store. My sales associate name is Ken who happen to be the manager. He has the best customer service skills which was great for my personality. I am big on customer service. Since I knew by now what I wanted the purchase was smooth sailing. I believe I got a great price. I hired a professional to put down the floor. there was no damage material at all.Installations appeared to be easy. I had my floor down for 2 months now. still have beautiful shine. no noise when walking on floor. seems to hold up very well.I did get the extra padding. The color shows dust very easy but that's to be expected with color floors. I do not have animals so nothing to compare it to as if it scratches. So far no scratches from me. I don't have a lot of company so I am not expecting scratches and I do have padding on all of my furniture to protect the floors. So happy I picked African Mahogany laminated. My space is very open and it make the house look so rich. Look like I spent more than I did. went to store on independence Blvd. If you go there ask for Ken. He is the best.

One of the more attractive laminates. Straight forward installation. The finish scratches very easily and the substrate is a different color. It will show through. My impression was this is the most attractive, yet softest laminate I have seen and used.

                  Best Uses

                  • Basement
                  • Concrete

I put this laminte down in on my first floor concrete base for one bedroom and the hallway/closet and going to complete in the bathroom. It looks good, but isn't comparable to real wood obviously which is on my 2nd and 3rd floors. It seems to do the job well and take on a lot of foot traffic.

Liked the color more in the store, but it seems to be true to display so i'm not concerned, clicks in fairly easily, small sections where the board were cut don't stay down like i want for a floating floor; nothing some glue or baseboard couldn't hold once installed. Little to no waste either.

Overall floor seems fine and durable, gotten complements on it. I wanted 12mm because the concrete floor below is going to get cold in the winter and i have someone living in the room. Also got some paint on it while doing the walls and ceiling and once dried it came off easily with a razor without damaging the clear coat.

Paid about $550 for 300sqft and then the expensive underlayment was required for install as well along with the blue moisture barrier, hoping it helps with the floor temps when we hit freezing points. Not sure why it costed so much. All in all about $780 for 300 sqft of laminate.

I'd recommend to a friend for a playroom or basement room, otherwise fork over the money for real wood if you can because the difference is night and day.

                  Service and delivery comments:

Darren at Norwalk, CT store was very helpful and friendly. Was honest and prompt when store was busy. Had called me back 2 months before on some hardwood and remembered him when going in for laminate.

                  Best Uses

This was our first laminate installaion, and it did make clear this isn't necessarily a job for 50+ year old knees, but the end is striking and looks good. For a music room in the basement, the sound reflection is not a particularly good thing, but there are not many choices that are. Most pieces assembled easily, but a few were very difficult, and a handful of pieces had minor cosmetic damage out of the box.

                      Best Uses

This is a nice product, looks great when down. But I purchased 10 boxes and out of that 10 boxes there was one full box of product that could not be used due to chips in the corners, scratches in the middle of the product, just generally not usable.

Floor goes down easily enough, you just need to make sure when you pound it in with the installation kit that you do not chip the edges or damage them during install. Also, I noticed that quite a few of the grooves were not cleaned out of wood chips from the manufacturing process. if they are not cleaned out, this will prevent a good solid locking of the pieces between one another.

We can only recommend our Dream Home or Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
                                Thank you for your inquiry.

I installed around 900 sf of African Mahogany a few months ago. I will likely now do the bedrooms. Should I run the floor in the bedroom so it runs the same direction or the opposite? Or does it matter? The two will be separated by t-molding. If I run it the same direction, 2 of the bedrooms will have windows that show light across the floor and one will throw light the length of the board. What are best practices for this?

I am researching information for the purchasing hardwood, laminate, vinyl cork & bamboo throughout my residence. I have looked both at the business & on-line to see what's out there & quite overwhelmed by the samples I have looked at. I have narrowed my search down to the light-medium colors with undertones of red (cherry, mahogany up to walnut). The other wood colors would be pine & maple as the lightest. I try to avoid anything that has to do with oak because my woodwork in my residence is oak. I see on the your website where my baseboard can be replaced to match the flooring, is that the only item I can replace as it pertains to matching the actual floor? If possible, please respond to as much as you as I will bw picking up some new samples when I visit the Lumber Liquidators store shortly.

Laminate flooring and nosing isn't ideal for stairs, fine for one or two steps but we caution the use of it on an entire staircase. People do it but it can be unsafe. Check your local building codes.  Hardwood flooring or tongue and groove engineered and nosing works great, when laminate IS used you must fully glue will 100% urethane adhesive without the use of padding, padding attached laminate must have paddling scraped off.

I have this product in my basement and my wife would like to move her treadmill their. Would the floor hold up to the treadmill (about 200lbs) and a person 130 lbs running on it?

Yes. However protect the flooring when moving the treadmill and use floor protection; pads under the unit or a throw rug. When using area rugs, use a rug pad with a felt, plant or PVC based backing. DO NOT use area rugs with a petroleum based rubber backing (typically black) as this can cause permanent chemical staining/etching of the floor finish.

                            • Q:

I plan to install this flooring in a 31'x 14' room with adjoining hallway that is 6.25' x 29' that runs parallel to the room. Does the placement of a T-joint have to be crosswise in the middle of the room? If I allow the 1/2" expansion at all sides of flooring and at the 2 doors onto the hallway put a T-joint, would that be sufficient for expansion? I really don't want to break up the room with a raised joint across it. Also, does it make any difference which direction the boards run?

Generally flooring looks best when installed the long way in the room.

Expansion gaps are recommended by the manufacturer for anything over 27'. You might be okay with your plan however if you have major expansion/contraction because of the climate in the building you may experience gapping or at the worst separating joints. This would be an at your own risk situation, not covered by the manufacturer warranty.
