Morning Star Bamboo- 1/2" x 5" Stained Solid Click Strand Antique Bamboo Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

        Cons

          Best Uses

Installed the bamboo flooring in about 550 sq. ft. including living room, dining room, kitchen and small half bath. Looks great. Went together really easy with the click together installation. Would highly recommend to anyone considering this product. Nice price also. A tip: Occasionally an entire box would be lighter than the rest, we just staggered them throughout the floor, it adds some variation to the color.

I would like to say the cleaning products are very nice.
We would like a bigger swifter mop being a commerical space it would be just easier to clean the floor if the swifter was big.

This is the 4th time I have put this down in my house. It is very easy to use and the look is awesome! The click and lock system with just a bead of glue and its that easy. We now have it in all three bedrooms and the hallway in between them. Might be doing at least one more room over with it too!

We were looking for a durable wood floor that could withstand 3 kids & 2 dogs. This is the floor! We laid the floor 10 months ago. I was worried with having 2 medium sized dogs in the house that they would damage or scratch the floor but the bamboo floor has proved itself. This is a great choice & looks beautiful!

The product itself is awesome - we installed it ourselves in our family room and kitchen, and it looks gorgeous. Beware of slivers on the back of the boards when installing. If you run you hand along the back of the board, they will be there. This is only when you are handling the back of the boards, however. The finish side is smooth and beautiful.

Loved the Click method. Used 1200 s.f for Living room, kitchen & dining etc. Looks beautiful down. Watch for defects before you install and really allow for the expansion. It Buckled in one place right in the middle of the floor ! Allow plenty recommended time to acclimate to house. Use the best pad available to avoid anything coming up through floor like staples. It is easy to take up if you goof anywhere as long as you don't glue it.

One of the responses here says that a pad is required for installation however the instruction manual from morning Star does not mention anything about needed a pad underneath. The instructions state to not use plastic sheeting ontop of wood subfloor but makes no mention of a pad. Is a pad actuall required?

You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the installation tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.
                                    Found in the instructions:
                                    OVERVIEW
                                    3. It is recommended to use a vapor retarder over all substrates before installing the Morning Star Clic flooring.
                                    4. Appropriate underlayments for Morning Star Clic; (Bellawood Premium, Eco Silent Sound, Dream Home Cork 3mm, 6mm, or similar.) Excessive squeaks and gapping can result from too soft an underlayment, an uneven subfloor, excessive high or low humidity, and poor acclimation. Underlayment cushions are optional for glue down installations.

Yes, floating floors are ideal for concrete subfloor. Bamboo however is not recommended below grade in basement. On Grade slabs are fine. See manufacturer instructions for details.

                                    A:

The 30' max applies to both length and width of product.
No spans of floating applications can exceed 30’ in width or length without and expansion break. Failure to meet these requirements can result in the floor buckling, separating or finish problems.
                                    Thank you for your inquiry.

Can this floor be installed 'backwards'? Due to wanting to expand the original area, I want to continue a floor without reversing directions. Will the tongue and groove 'click' still work properly? (i.e. to continue I would need to slide the longer 'tongue' under the other plank 'groove' edge ). It seems to work from my testing. Or, would I be better of changing directions?
