Half my stairwell is boxed-in while the other is an open stairwell. How do I attack the open stairwell section with the bamboo treads that seem to be for boxed-in stairs? Or, are there treads specifically designed for the open section? If so, do you sell them?1 answer
A:
Yes we can special order treads that are made for open ended steps.Q:
Wondering whether I should be concerned with the thickness of these treads? I currently have carpeting with a foam underlayment and I am planning on bamboo floors ands stairs. I think this option is more elegant than the stairs with stair noses.1 answer
A:
The thickness of these treads put over your existing stairs may cause a trip hazard because you are adding a full inch which may cause stumbles. Different counties have codes regarding changes in the rise of steps in relation to each other and with the landings at the bottom and top of a stair case. Most likely this application will be outside of code. These treads are designed to replace not go over existing steps.Q:
how many steps will get done with pice1 answer
A:
Unless your steps are only 24" wide you will only be able to get one out of every 48" wide tread.
