We had these floors installed last week and couldn't be more pleased. They look wonderful. We had this floor installed everywhere except for bedrooms and upstairs bathrooms.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood:
I had it installed during winter, which was a bad idea. When the hot and humid summer arrived, the floor started to buckle and warp slowly to the point where I had to rip out the entire floor and be redone. I first blamed myself and also my contractor for not knowing much. I then hired someone different with a lot more experience and knowledge. I even had it sit in my hot and humid house so it can acclimate for more than a week. The same thing is happening again but not as bad. It only happens around the longer pieces though. (I think there wasn't enough nails) It can be fixed with some finishing nails and wood filler. It's just very frustrating thinking the second time around will fine. I started thinking to myself how I would have done it differently. Used 18 guage L shape nails instead of 16 guage? (Dense and 3/8" or thinner are prone to crack at the lip. Becareful with the nail you choose and the PSI used). Don't space the nails so far apart? Use a thicker plywood for the subfloor? These things still cross my mind everytime I look at the floor. My advice, is to take my last few comments and let the contractor knows and asks for their advice. Or even talk to the sales people at LL. Thank you and I hope this helps.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood:
We have the Brazilian redwood instalaed on most of the rooms in the house, and it changes entire house like tuxedo with bow tie. Makes me feel like a millionaire too. It is easy to maintain and to clean up, but upset our doggie due to slippery floor. One thing that we feel negative is the over 10% of product defect ratio. We have to use 3 extra boxes of materials on top of the 5% calulated loss.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood:
We installed this flooring in our kitchen and love it. The color and finish look great and it has already stood up to a few dropped tools, etc. without a mark. It was done in 4 hours, 125 sq. ft, with an experienced friend doing it and my husband assisting. We were told not to glue it, and we took the advise. We rented a floor stapler and I'm sure it was faster and cleaner.

Beautiful floor installed throughout my 1st level. Very hard wood to cut through and the recommended glue is very difficult to get off. Found the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser was the only way to get the glue off after it cures.

The first 20 boxes had too many short pieces in them. I needed more long boards then short ones. The floor does look wonderful, but I had a lot of small boards left over.

Service and delivery comments:
All of the above! Salesmen at your City of Industry location were super, especially Jose Zaldivar. Both were very personable,
helpful and knowledgeable about products. They also put us in touch with Bryan's Flooring, who did a very nice job of installing flooring. We have already told friends and family where to go
for flooring for affordable prices and excellent customer service!

I've noticed that some floors such as this one have the word "select" at the beginning and end of the product name and some such as product 10005401 (which appears to be the same as this one) only have "select" at the end; is there a difference between the two? Can this product be installed over a concrete slab in Florida?1 answer
A:
Yes it can.Q:
Is this product photosensitive? What are the least photosensitive species that have this coloring?1 answer
A:
Wood products can be dramatic in appearance, especially the exotics. Only factory made products such as tile, vinyl, and wallpaper will have uniformity of color. Keep in mind that wood and corks are natural product and no two installed floors will be identical. Variations in appearance are completely normal and are a desired characteristic. As your floor ages, color or shading called “patina” can occur. This process can be rapid the first 3 months, less in 6 months, then finishing off in about I year. Moving the furniture and rugs around helps to even out areas that were not exposed to light. Try to avoid large area rugs for the first 3 months.Q:
So this product can be nailed down? And if so is it recommended to both nail and glue?1 answer
A:
Yes, the BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood can be nailed down or glued down to a plywood or concrete subfloor. You would either nail it down or glue it down, no need to do both. For installation instructions please click on the link below.
