BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Select Brazilian Walnut Prefinished Solid Hardwood Flooring

What makes Bellawood so Unique? We carefully hand select each species from regions across the globe that are known to produce denser woods and that exemplify the species' finest qualities. That's why we say, "It's more than hardwood. It's Bellawood."

Few species surpass the hardness and durability of Brazilian Walnut. And when coupled with its timeless beauty, it's truly a treasure among floors. Its captivating chocolate browns and soft tans liven up any décor, contemporary or traditional. And its mostly straight grain occasionally gives way to stunning waves and dark striping, adding unrivaled character to your home.
This product is proudly finished in the USA.

About "Select Grade" Flooring
Select Grade has the most uniform color with no large knots and the longest average lenght of planks. Also referred to as First Grade.

It Taber Tested "the Best." When subjected to the industry sandpaper abrasion test, known as Taber Testing, Bellawood's durability results were more than double most comparably priced floors. There's good, there's better?and then there's Bellawood.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

Brazilian Cherry is considerably more reddish. When side by side it will be apparent. Durability is close between the two.

Is this Brazilian Walnut by Bellawood also named IPE? Also, with time, does it turn to more green or more brown in color? Thank you
    Asked on 4/14/2012 by Anonymous

      A:

Yes, Brazilian Walnut is known in the flooring trade as IPE. Over time it Brazilian Walnut floors deepen in color; the overall look of the floor will be a deep brown color with shades of greens, blacks and even some redish planks. • Q:

can the 3/4" x 5" Bz Walnut be installed over a concrete slab using the Elastilon Strong product? What about gluing this flooring based on it's stability rating if an larger trowel were used to allow for adequate bonding between the concrete and the wood planks?
Asked on 3/1/2012 by Biggie from Central Florida

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.
But can be installed over concrete using our Elastilon underlayment.
What you should know about Elastilon Strong
An Elastilon-backed wood floor is much faster to install than traditional nail or glue-down methods.
Elastilon Strong can be installed on new concrete floors, handling up to 3.9% moisture content. A vapour barrier of at least 6 mil PE should be used below grade and on newly poured concrete above grade where the moisture content is above 3.9%.
Laid down with a 5/8” (15 mm) expansion gap, Elastilon Strong creates a dynamic, floating floor that expands or contracts naturally with the hardwood.
Elastilon Strong has no odor and is free of volatile materials.
      Elastilon Strong gives cushioned comfort.
1/8” (3 mm) thick Elastilon Strong has ratings of IIC 62 and STC 54.
      Thermal resistance: R _ 0,15 (m K) / W
Elastilon Strong carries a 70-year limited warranty.
I can't recommend gluing this solid 3/4" product to a concrete slab.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
