Once finished, the floor is beautiful, but there was a problem because of the snap-together not fitting very well. It took 12-1/2 hours to put down in a 6x16 ft. hallway.

We got this flooring in from our local lumber liquidators. Their price is great. We were amazed at how easy the installation was. We decided to not go with the recommended installation of the floating floor. We nailed it down with brad nails, and it worked great. Our last house we had the tongue and groove flooring where you had to bang it in and nail it, this one clicks right in, and then you can nail it down. The cons I have found with it, is that it dents fairly easily. We had to move our fridge into place by going across the grain of the floor, and it dented it. So I wouldn't recommend letting kids roller skate or ride little bikes on it.

Great service when purchasing from LL(pensacola, fl). The flooring looked surprising good once laid. Install is good for the do-it-yourselfer. MAKE SURE THE PIECES FIT PERFECT BEFORE MOVING TO THE NEXT PIECE. Each box had a couple of short pieces which seemed to continuosly be skinnier than the long pieces. The short pieces can be used in certain areas but I set a bunch of the aside until needed. A table saw and chop saw is a must when installing. Like any flooring, it takes a little time to get a feel for the installation. Myself and a friend put down 2500 sq/ft, in my new house, in a week. It looks great!!!

We had this floor installed in our livingroom/dining room. I chose the butcherblocked Castle Park for a variety of reasons. The handscraped surface is smooth and fun to walk across and seemingly easier on my bad knees. It feels cozier and warmer in this large space than I'd imagine a flat floor would be. Because of the organic look, the subtle variations in the subfloor are less noticeable.
My family can be hard on floor surfaces as I know from past experiences. I wanted a floor that would be forgiving for high traffic and would wear better over the next 5-10 years than a non-handscraped surface might. We love the way this looks and the installer said it was a breeze to install.
While using the new floor care spray, I noticed what looks like a few spots of wax or residue. There are one or two pieces that seem to look a little funky, but I think with some elbow grease this residue will polish out.
I just returned from LL with my new floor care kit deal. I'm especially excited about the foam stickers for the chairs and other furniture. Don't forget to add those to your order. The bella floor care kit cleaned up the installation dust and polished very easily.
We had it installed on our stairs, hallway, one bedroom and a large bonus room. It looks fantastic! The widths were all the same for us. No damaged pieces meant that the 10% overage we bought wasn't needed. We're going to use it to do another bedroom!
One thing to be aware of... The hand scraped finish means that the floor isn't even. When we installed the baseboards we had to do some sanding to get them to settle down to the floor, especially on the walls that run perpendicular to the floor. We only spent the time and effort to do this on baseboard that isn't behind furniture.
Although this flooring was beautiful to the eye, it had many issues. We ended up having to exchange this product with a glue down flooring. The widths were different sizes, so this caused many problems with installment. It started out with just minor gaps that could be fixed, but then a little further into the project our installer had to stop completely. The pieces were not clicking together due to the different sizes. I will not recommend this floor to anyone.

This is beautiful flooring. I have found quite a few pieces that are wider than the others. This makes it near impossible to put the floor together without gaps. Fortunately there aren't that many so far. Also, there are broken pieces. Not the floor planks themselves, but mostly the part of them that clicks together. Overall I really like the flooring, but it doesb't go together as easy as advertised.

Was my first time installing wood and I found it to be very easy. I would suggest a miter, table and jig saw to make the job go easy.

Q:
I'm curious what is the recommended maintenance for Virginia Mill Works 5/8" x 4-7/8" Castle Park Oak Easy Click?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:

Is it necessary to use an underlayment when installing over a plywood subfloor with a floating installation? Or for nail or glue down installation for that matter?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. Floating flooring requires a padded underlayment. You will need either Foam Underlayment, Eco Silent Sound, Bellawood Premium Underlayment, or Quiet Walk underlayment for floating floors. Find here- http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/s/flooring-molding-tools-accessories/underlaymentsQ:
after instillation of this product, being that it is floating, will it bounce when walked on or feel solid? My floors are super flat, but I am not familiar with this product or seen it installed in person and curious how it will preform.1 answer
A:
When using a quality underlayment this will make for a sturdy floor.Q:

A:
Yes you can!Q:
After pulling up the carpet in our 600 sq ft great room, we discoved the fiberboard underneath was uneven in places. Would we need to even out the subfloor beforing installing this if we floated it?1 answer
A:
Yes you will!Q:
Can you please provide more pictures of the Virginia Mill Works 5/8" x 4-7/8" Castle Park Oak Easy Click product installed? I need to see better views to determine if this is the flooring I intend to purchase later this month.1 answer
A:
I am sorry, the only photos that I have available for this new product are the photos our customers have submitted during installation. Once we receive before and after photos from customers they will be posted as well. You can also order samples of this material if you would like.Q:
Due to the span of my floor, if I put these down, I'd have to staple them. I know the specs suggest "Senco SLS20HF or equivalent". Does the Norge 15-1/2ga. 2-in-1 Floor Nailer that LL sells count as equivalent? I assume I'd have to pad the 1/2 shoe a bit to make it 5/8ths, but I'm not sure if there's some other difference that I am not aware of.1 answer
A:
The Norge 15.5 ga is too big.Q:
can you tell me the specific lengths that this comes in. I realize it may be random lengths per box but I need to know what those lengths are. also, do you sell the stain for this wood in case I need to cut it and need to match a stain for the raw wood. can you order this in specific lengths such as 3 foot lengths or 2 foot lengths1 answer
A:
These planks will come in 48" lengthsQ:
I am building a lake house and as such am concerned about the moisture levels and their effect on solid wood flooring. How would this product compare to an engineered product in terms of moisture and the associated cuping and warping concerns?1 answer
A:
An engineered material will not contract and expand as much as a solid, if it is the moisture you are concerned with then a moisture barrier would work well for you - the contraction and expansion of wood normally comes from the relative humidity in your home not direct moisture, the direct moisture if allowed to soak into your flooring would more likely cause finish issues
