NIRVANA by Dream Home- 8mm Chilton Woods Oak Laminate Flooring- 25 Year Warranty

Dream Home's Nirvana line of laminate floors will fill your home with harmonious style.
This product has it all: an 8mm moisture-resistant core with a pre-glued 3mm sound-proofing foam underlay, the feel of real wood grain and a 25 year warranty.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

NIRVANA Flooring Advantages:
- Real wood grain
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- 3mm pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 25 Year Warranty

3 years since we did the whole upstairs with it and it's been great. Keys dropped on it won't generally hurt it because of the nice protective layer. Make sure your floor is EVEN because non-even spots will start to squeak.

          Comes apart at joints

This flooring was terrible to install. It comes apart at the short ends and if you tap it too hard to lock it it will warp the edge of the board. Wasted many boards trying to avoid this. Floor has been down a year and it is still coming apart in many places. I knew for the price this wouldn't be of great quality, but did expect better than this.

i chose this laminate because of price. if you have the ability to afford a better product, choose something else. the guys installing said this didn't snap together as easily as other products they had worked with. but i am happy with the end result. it looks great and with proper care will hopefully last through the 25 year warranty

                • Q:

I've purchased the chilton woods oak laminate. I now need to do my stairs. What color stain should I buy to match?

                    A:

Unfortunately this stain is not available in a can for retail sale. I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring (and a piece of the wood that is the same species as the stairs that you will be staining) to a paint store and they should be able to match the stain for you. Thank you for your inquiry.

Can I install laminate flooring over a radiant heated concrete floor?

                    A:

DREAM HOME flooring can be used in combination with many types of in-floor heating.

                    1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
                    2. Concrete subfloors must be installed and cured a minimum of 60 days.
                    3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation to dissipate any residual moisture. During installation, the system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature 65 to 75°F.
                    4. Adjust the heating system gradually. The heating surface temperature must not exceed 85°F.

would this flooring be good for a kitchen? After reading some of the other questions about bubbling when liquids are spilled my guess would be no but I really hoped to do the same flooring throughout the remainder of the downstairs (kitchen, office, living room).

Yes, laminate flooring can be used to cover a set of stairs but due to the overlap design of the stair nosings it would not be my first choice for a full flight of stairs.
