Q:
I am replacing my flooring with the 12mm Chimney Rock laminate from Dream Home. I have stairs that transition from that flooring to the basement, so I have purchased the recommended stair nose molding to transition to that first step. Question:1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
You need a Versaatrim Shim; To be used to raise the Stair Nose when usedQ:
How does the stair nose attach to the rest of the floor? I am on a concrete slab that has a step down to a foyer. I will have the laminate on the main floor, in the foyer, and on the rise of the step, I am just not understanding how the stair nose stays down, because it doesn't look like it has the click lock design to lock into the last piece on the main floor.1 answer
A:
Check out our website under Flooring 101 by typing in " Transition applications for Laminates and floating wood floors (pdf) “, click on the top red & white PDF symbol (upper left), then open pop up". Thank you for writing in.Q:
What is the width of this piece?1 answer
A:
The width of this stairnose is 2" without the curve to cover the front of the step, if you add the curve that is going to overhang the full meaurement is 2 1/2"Q:
I'm unsure how to install this. Do I simply butt it up against a piece of flooring? Why is there a lip on the back end? If I butt it up against a piece of flooring, that lip creates a cavity underneath it. It seems like that's a terrible design and could crack easily if stepped on. Does that lip overlap the last piece of flooring? That doesn't seem best either because it causes the nose to be uneven. I'd have to put an additional spacer under the spacer provided to get it up to the right level. Is there a website, picture, instructions anyone can give me?1 answer
