Charisma by Dream Home- 8mm Cinnabar Oak Laminate Flooring- 25 Year Warranty

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is recommended for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

CHARISMA Flooring Advantages:
- Realistic wood grain visuals
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- 2mm pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 25 Year Warranty

Great floor, awful install instructions

Pros

  • nice color and finish

Cons

  • Installation Instructions

Best Uses

We bought this on sale for our basement remodel. The instructions were as bad as IKEA instructions and weren't even close to being helpful. The first row went in fine but hooking the second row in was a nightmare. After a lot of google searches and reading message boards, discovered the following. To hook the second row (and any row their after) into the previous row, connect the short end pieces of the second row together for the whole length, placing the tongue onto top of and not into the groove of the previous row. Once that row is complete, use painter's tape to keep the pieces connected. Then, like a zipper, work for one end all the way down, connecting the rows. It was easiest to get the board in at a 30 degree angle all the way down then go back and jiggle it down flat, using the rubber mallet for any tough parts. Once you figure this out, it is worth it and so much easier!!

Chips easy, Not the easiest to install

        By Tim

This product looks great when finished, but it was easiest to install by putting a whole run togeter and then locking it it. If you have under cuts to do, use a better procuct! And if you are not careful, the edges chip very easily!

Not as easy as it seems

        By Chuck the floor master

        from Durham

        Verified Reviewer

The product was easy to use, generally speaking... it just took awhile to figure the best way to install it. I discovered it was much easier to connect the ends and tap the side together. The underlay matting picked easily on the sub floor so you may want to lay plastic before hand.

        Service and delivery comments:

We picked our flooring up in the store. The sales reps were wonderful, professional and friendly.

Floor really looks good, however it wasn't the easiest to install. Couldn't do it myself, had to call a friend for help because whole rows have to be put together at once. If I put down any more laminate I'll upgrade to a better quality product with an easier click together install. "You get what you pay for"

                A:

Store Laminate Flooring flat for a minimum of 48 hours, in unopened packaging, at room temperature (15°- 30°C / 60°-85°F and a maximum of 75% relative humidity) in the room in which they are to be installed. For floors with radiant heating make sure to turn down your thermostat to 15°C / 60°F at least 1 week prior to installation (do not turn off heating if the temperature outside is below freezing). Maintain the temperature below 27°C / 80°F.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

It is possible that the old pad is the problem. This flooring requires no padding because of the attached padding on the boards. Old padding should be removed.

Other reasons; individual boards in a previously installed row may tend to separate a the ends due to the normal use of tapping blocks.(Vibrations) There are techniques installers know and use to keep these rows together as they finish one row and proceed with the next.

A suggestion to minimize this; try wedging-in a spacer at the end of every finished row, this will work as a vice that prevents board separation as your working the next rows, remove all spacers when finished.

No need for tape, I usually just overlap about three inches. You may need to tack the ends down to prevent it rolling back up on you.
