We installed these wood floor on the two bedrooms on the second floor. One box had high percentage of damaged planks, so we contacted Lumber Liquidators and they were very accommodating by sending us additional four boxes at good discount. Plus, the shipment of additional boxes was free.
Eventually, during the installation, it appeared that first box was the worst; others had reasonably expected percentage of damaged planks – around 7%.
We acclimatized the wood planks for a week. The floor was installed by professional contractor. The resulting look is beautiful. The only one con that there are noticeable gaps at the end of wood planks. According our contractor, this is problem of how ends of planks were done during the manufacturing process. The size of gaps is less then thickness of credit card that seems like acceptable standard in the industry. Also, some sites suggest that this is because the floor was installed during dry winter months and will set eventually when the weather becomes more humid.
Overall, we are very satisfied with the project and want to thank Lumber Liquidators for great customer service and knowledgeable advices.

Yes you can, provided you run the new flooring diagonally over the existing hardwood. When running the new flooring in the same direction as the existing hardwood the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommends adding a layer of real plywood of at least 3/8” in between the new and the existing hardwood floor. This allows both floors to expand and contract in relation to humidity without affecting the other. ¼” Luan is not recommended for nail down applications because it is not a structure board.Q:
