Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

We purchased: Morning Star Click 1/2" x 5" Dao Click Strand Bamboo flooring for our entryway, stairs, living and dining room. We couldnt be happier. I read reviews and saw some negative comments but after discussing with the store manager came to the conclusion that this floor was just as satisfactory than other products out there that I researched. Most importantly, you must prepare your surface and read the installation instructions and follow them. My installer was fabulous and experienced. I will upload pics to show how beautiful the flooring is. My only issues is that it shows the dust and fibers from my wool area rug but any dark flooring will. I dont regret it at all and love the dark color so it is well worth me running the vaccume or using my floor cleaner. If by chance you get a scratch because all floors will scratch...a quick rub of Old English dark stain polish fixes it immediately. This floor is simply beautiful. I also ordered the floor registers to match which again were worth every penny!
I dont want to forget our East Peoria Illinois staff, they were so kind, helful and always there for us.

    High Maintenance, Sharpies For Scratches

    By James

    Pros

      Cons

        Best Uses

As others have said, every bit of dust shows on these floors. I have these floors installed throughout my entire house. Literally everywhere except closets and bathrooms. I have 2 robot sweepers roaming around the house most days, I also try to swiffer and mop with the bellawood floor cleaner once a week. This keeps things pretty tidy. I'm a single male and I travel a lot for work, so my floors don't get very much traffic, so the weekly cleaning regimen is plenty for my floors to stay looking like something out of a magazine.

Also, this may sound a little weird, but I have found that if you have any deep or light scratches that shows the lighter "bamboo color" under the dark stain take a regular black sharpie and color in the scratch then IMMEDIATELY wipe in the direction of the wood grain with a regular paper towel. For large scratches do small sections at a time to make sure the sharpie doesn't dry on the surface. You'll be surprised at the results!

          High maintenance

          • LOW TRAFFIC AREA

I'll reiterate what others have said before. "Every dust shows...", "Looks great until you walk on it...". That pretty much sums up my issue with these floors. The problem in my living room is that there is direct sunlight. It shows all the dirt, streak, sweat, oil that's on the surface. Within 1 week, there are scratches everywhere, I'm hoping those scratches can be fixed. It does look great right after you clean it but it doesn't last long. High maintenance.

This is a great product so far, but we have only had it for a week. I will probably give it 5 out of 5 in the future, but only gave it 4 because we have not had much traffic on it yet. People love the color and the feel, so I think it will be a great investment.

          Best Uses

No doubt this floor is beautiful. But with beauty comes a huge price. Super high maintenance. The problem with the floor is in the construction. It is a dark stain layer on top of a blond colored bamboo wood. Once the surface is scratched, it shows the light wood color underneath. Traditional oak floors are solid wood throughout. So if oak is scratched, oak shows through. Can't really see the scratch. Plus LL does not have available a stain to touch-up any damages. Not good. Also, this flooring looks satin in finish but the satin finish polyurethane available in the hardware stores looks semi-gloss compared to the floor finish. I called LL to get help but they could not assist me in getting what I need to repair scratches. My advise, buy a solid wood flooring. Same color from top to bottom.

I love this floor. Not a huge coloration difference in boxes. Installed 1000 sq feet over 3 days. Had a lot of cuts. The boards are super strong as you can tell while using a jigsaw. Used glue in the click lock joints to be safe. Have a surface scratch- floor cleaner made it disappear. Will show dust and dirty shoe marks due to the dark shade. Wanted a dark floor and couldn't be happier.

Even though it is a dark wood, it does not darken the rooms. We used it in an open concept (entire downstairs) and it looks so much bigger with one floor! It is beautiful. More beautiful than I expected. Easy to clean. You do notice small debris dropped, dust not so much.

This floor was very easy to install. Used the Eco Silent Sound HD underlayment. That was very easy to use also. I bought this floor because of the beautiful look, but also the durability. I needed something that was going to hold up well. I have a dog and a couple of grandchildren. I took a sample of this floor before I bought it and beat it with a hammer as hard as I could. I could barely even make a noticeable dent. Other hardwoods I could tear up with a hammer. I was sold.

The planks are very beautiful, indeed. The click - lock system made it easy to install. However, after installing some of the flooring, it made a crunching sound with every step from our feet. It was not the hollow sound that you would hear from cheap laminate flooring. The sound was very annoying.
We had to disassemble the floor and redo it. This time we applied adhesive to the tongue and groove. The crunching sound was reduced to a couple steps here and there.

I just picked up the first batch of Dao Bam strand woven click bamboo from Morning Star. I noticed when opening up some of the boxes that the surface is not always smooth, but sometimes contains grooves and areas that were fixed, i.e. an insert was visible. With the risk that I set myself up to get the obvious answer: Is this normal, or is this supposed to be a A-quality product with a completely smooth surface?

Of course with any "natural product" there is an acceptable waste factor (10%) for this product.

Yes. Bamboo flooring can be fully re-sanded and finished as any other species. You should be able to refinish your floor at least 4 to 5 times if not more. But that would be a jobsite decision made by a certified professional sand and finisher.

If you'd like to walk on the floor please visit one of our many Lumber Liquidators locations.

I don't see any trim that matches this. What would I use for door transitions?

                            A:

Bamboo is not recommended for bathrooms.

MORNING STAR bamboo flooring should not be used over in-floor heating and no warranties are expressed. If you choose to do so note these five tips.

                            1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
                            2. Concrete subfloors must be installed and cured a minimum of 60 days.
                            3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation to dissipate any residual moisture. During installation, the system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature 60 -80°F, humidity 35 -55%.
                            4. Adjust the heating system gradually, the heating surface temperature must not exceed 85°F. Add humidification as needed. 5. Over dry conditions and excessive surface heat can create problems with the finish, board gapping and splits

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.

When using the Dao click-lock do u get any shade or color varriation between boards like you might with natural woods. Also is the Dao click handscraped or distressed? It looks like it has a minimal amount of distressing, but there's nothing in its description about weather its handscraped or distressed. We are looking for a floor that is dark and has some shade/color differences and is also slightly handscraped and distressed so the final look is more rustic floor without it being super distressed with a wire brush or hammer. Just gently distressed, if that's even possible.thanks for answering!!!
