I wasn't intending on purchasing underlayment since I bought the 12mm laminate with the pad already on but I'm glad I made the extra purchase. The underlayment has reduced the clicking hollow sound of laminate flooring and provides a nice cushion. Easy to lay down with easy attaching strip to connect pieces. Have had no problem with defect in the product or with the product tearing from walking on.

The only potential Con would be that as the underlayment is a little thicker, I had to tap in each board into place to tighten up the seems. This added extra time during installation, but really paid off in the end.

an inch of product was missing for about 10-12 feet on one edge of a roll of your rubber underlaiment. the edge was ragged, and resulted in a gap between rows when laid out edge to edge. this was obviously a manufacturing defect. We purchased 3 rolls, and the defect was present on one of them.

In planning to install hardwood floors, we were concerned about the noise level of footsteps on hardwood. I came across the Eco-Silent and spoke with the salesperson about it. Eco-friendly and sound muffling? Works for me! It's very easy to work with as the Eco-Silent rolls flat - there's no fighting the curling as with other foam underlayments (except for the last foot or so - no big deal there).
it truly does deaden the sound - both from speakers and from footsteps. My neighbors have hardwood and everything echoes, not so with my floor, courtesy of Eco-Silent.

This product was an unexpected plus to my new floor. I purchased on the recomendation of the wonderful sales people in De Pere, WI. Simply walking on the floor is undeniably quieter than with out. I had family over when I was about half done, and they couldn't believe the sound difference. One caution, is to staple this product down and tape the seams on top as well as use the adhesive strip on the bottom. This is really important on the first couple of rows when you are trying to get everything nice and straight. If its not attached to the floor, it will move and make it much harder to install those first few most important rows.

All in All a very good product that I would buy again

ECO Silent Sound HD - I've seen in previous question posts regarding over concrete applications that the plastic shield should be installed face down. I'm going over a wood subfloor in an above grade application with the Tranquility LVT. Do I still install with plastic side down?

Not a concrete subfloor. Some of the responses here recommend a vapor barrier before the Eco Silent for a concrete subfloor. Do I misunderstand the terms here? Concrete floor is a primary slab, >20 years. Do I need an additional vapor barrier?
