Comments about Floating Floor Tongue & Groove Adhesive:

Its simple white wood glue. It dries quicky and is cheap to buy. The only thing that would make it better is if it were waterproof, but then again, if an engineered wood floor gets that much water on it and is not immediately cleaned up, the fun has only begun...

How much will this glue expand?

I am thinking about adding it to the tongue and groove part of 3/4" thick, 5" wide brazilian cherry. I want to do this as opposed to full glue down because I do want to put an underlayment. So this would be used together w/cleat nails if it can be done.

Some installers recommend gluing tongue and groove ends only for 4" or wider boards with tongue and groove wood glue. I've done it myself without issue. Do not glue the side tongue and groove or expansion/contraction will cause damage. In addition place fasteners 1” to 3” from ends and 6” to 8” apart. Minimum 2 fasteners per board.

I used this glue last summer when I installed my tongue and groove strand woven bamboo flooring. Last week we had a refrigerator water line break and the restoration guys removed a bunch of flooring, but the the tongues and snapped off in the next row of grooves. Any suggestions on how to chemically loosen this glue so I can make a clean row? Or any other suggestions on how I go about starting over in the middle of a room?
