Virginia Mill Works Co. - 7/16" x 4-3/4" Heritage Hickory- Easy Click - Prefinished Handscraped Engineered Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

Give your home a touch of that same simple elegance our ancestors cherished!
Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works handscraped floors. Virginia Mill Works with easy click installation engineered flooring is constructed with a real hardwood handscraped veneer atop a moisture-resistant HDF (high density fiberboard) core which is made from real wood fibers that are compressed into a dense, impact-resistant format. In addition to providing extra protection against denting, the HDF enables the most precise milling of the locking profile to enhance ease of use and long-term durability.

Quick Highlights:
- Superior strength and stability in any room, including basements.
- Type of installation: Floating and made even easier with Easy Click installation system!
- Beautiful Hand Scraped finish
- 30 Year Warranty

About Handscraped Flooring:
Hand Scraped or Distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand.

We love this floor and are very happy with the choice we made. We were looking for wood flooring that would hold up to high traffic and our two dogs. Not only did the Heritage Hickory live up to the good reviews, it exceeded our expectations. It's beautiful, durable and according to my brother in law easy to install. Great Product!!!

This flooring goes down incredibly easy with very little waste. Cut offs can very easily be used as starters for the subsequent rows of flooring. I would like to see more variation in the sizes of the pieces. 90% of what you get is 1 of 3 sizes. There are 2 additional sized pieces, but you get almost none of them in the boxes. I have installed Virginia Mill Works 3/4" solid hardwood and it has many more sized pieces...but the easy-click flooring has a lot more long pieces...which is definitely a positive.

I couldn't be more pleased with the Heritage Hickory flooring. We put down about 600 sf in the kitchen, dining room, and living room. It really changes the whole feel of the house. The variation in grain in the boards really provides character. The installation is super easy and the floors have a great feel to them when you walk on them. Highly recommend this product.

          These are gorgeous floors!

Love these floors! The only thing you might want to know is that I glued the ends. The groove was not secure enough (my opinion) and I didn't want the boards separating over time. May not have ever happened since the side to side grooves were good but I had this problem with the laminate I was replacing and just didn't want to chance it. Very easy installation!

          • Throughout the house

We are really happy with the way our floors came out. We really like the look and feel of these floors -- lots of pattern/color variation, nice and smooth surface. We installed these ourselves (along with some family help) throughout the whole house, it was relatively easy to install. We love our floors and have received plenty of compliments on them. We would definitely recommend these floors.

The only con I can think of is that each box has a lot of smaller pieces vs the full boards.

The Price was definitely right and it looks like it cost more. The Distressed/Handscraped look does more than hide potential problems-it adds so much to the look! The Color Variations are interesting and add so much to the overall look. The color variation lends itself to be easily matched to your other wood products/furniture in your decor. I again hope that the beauty lasts and the durablility is proven over time.

This flooring can be floated over an approved underlayment. This may also be glued to an approved underlayment using the "double-stick" method where underlayment is fully adhered to the subfloor and then flooring glued to underlayment. Bellawood Premium, Eco Silent Sound, and Insulayment can be used for double-stick installation. For details see - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101

Hand scraped and distressed flooring can be resurfaced using the FA-8 abrader which is designed to abrade all types of factory-finished floors.
Its unique cylindrical-designed brushes allow you to abrade with or against the pattern grain of the floor, making it ideal for parquet, herring bone, distressed and hand-scraped flooring. The multiple brush grit offerings allow for various applications including abrading between coats during site finish applications.
We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if you are not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

              A:

The veneer thickness to this product is 2mm.
Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished.
Engineered flooring with a 1/8” wear layer or more will be able to be refinished at least once. If the engineered product has a 1/16” wear layer a professional sander may be able to refinish it, but many won’t take the chance in case they make a mistake and take too much off the wear layer. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

What furniture style does this flooring go with? Traditional, country, cabin-style?

I am looking for a floor that goes with traditional/contemporary furniture. My LR/kitchen is an open space with white trim. Kitchen has white cabinets. I would like to paint the walls a light-medium gray. Since I am on concrete, it has to be an engineered hardwood. Quick click or glue is fine.
