About Bamboo:
Bamboo floors' popularity has increased over the past few years as people have become more aware of the fragile state of the environment.
Because it is a grass rather than a wood, it grows far more quickly than a tree. The plant's extensive root system continually grows underground and it replenishes itself naturally, as grass does.
New growth, which springs out of the ground and can mature up to 24" in  24 hours and unlike trees, bamboo will regenerate quickly, making it a renewable resource.

I needed alot of flooring at a great price and this fit the bill and my budget. We installed just over 2000 sq. ft. of this in my new Jazzercise Center.

Installation was textbook. No big surprises and very little waste. Out of over 90 boxes only returned 1 box due to flaws. Store was great, exchanged it with no hassles.

The one surprise that some may count as a con was that there is a great range in the color that's considered 'natural' bamboo. You'll see in my attached photos that it ranges from light to dark sometimes within the same board. While I like how it looks in my studio, I'd suggest opening ALL boxes to plan the mix/mingle of colors for a consistent varied look. If you're looking for something with more uniformity go with a stained (ie carbonized)choice.

This is a young bamboo which makes it more susceptible to scratches. In my application, I was looking for a more flexible board for a suspended dance floor, so can live with the minor scratches of using it in a commercial application.

I bought this same product 4 years ago to install in my home - alergies are down - looks great - so easy to keep clean - you've got to put padding under furniture and have had "some" scratching under furniture where padding came off - but overall, a truly fine product. Now its going in a small condo we just bought (this purchase). I highly recommend it - and recommend that a pro do the install.

I would really appreciate if each bit of flooring was described as being what ever it is. Especially this one.

Is it engineered? Solid bamboo? Laminate? What?

I can put engineered down over concrete. Can't do that with laminate or solid. Hence it's important to know.

While FSC Certification is gaining in popularity, it is only one of many initiatives designed to promote ethical forest management/conservation. True FSC Certification requires supervision or custodial of product from seed to manufacture which some of our vendors participate in.Thank you for your inquiry.
Lumber Liquidators offers flooring brands that practice responsible harvesting. People that make their living in timber know the importance of sustaining healthy forests. Without a well-planned growth cycle, they simply are out of business. Tree cutting is monitored very carefully within a selective cutting and replanting strategy. At Lumber Liquidators, we believe hardwood flooring is a natural, healthy choice—for both you and the environment.
The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.

Where does this flooring come from or where is it made? We did our whole house in the bamboo, looks wonderfull, but now my husband is having some issues being all stuffy at night and was wondering if it has chemicals in it and what they would be?

This is a product of China.
All of our laminates, "composite" wood and engineered products are all CARB Phase II compliant and is stated so on the outside packaging. Starting January 1, 2009, California began regulating the formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products (particleboard, MDF, and hardwood plywood) sold in the state or used to make finished goods offered for sale in the state of California. The Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) is known as the "CARB rule." All products containing composite wood products must comply with this regulation.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.
