Quick Highlights: About Morning Star Bamboo: By harvesting only "old growth" bamboo, we are able to provide flooring with increased hardness, so it will better withstand the rigors of everyday life in your home. Our factory-applied SEVEN-LAYER TOP COAT FINISH includes two layers of tough, SCRATCH-RESISTANT aluminum oxide. About Bamboo: Bamboo floors' popularity has increased over the past few years as people have become more aware of the fragile state of the environment. Because it is a grass rather than a wood, it grows far more quickly than a tree. The plant's extensive root system continually grows underground and it replenishes itself naturally, as grass does. New growth, which springs out of the ground and can mature up to 24" in 24 hours and unlike trees, bamboo will regenerate quickly, making it a renewable resource. Natural: Bamboo in its natural, unstained state. Think Green. The only thing more beautiful than our floors are the prices. Comparing Bamboo prices? Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horizontal Natural Bamboo:
We put this bamboo in our kitchen and family room (one large, open area). We had initially wanted tile, but our contractor warned that our 1950s pier & beam house would likely settle and cause a tile floor to buckle and crack tiles. He recommended bamboo instead for its flexibility, beauty and durability. Two years later, I could not be happier with our decision. All this flooring needs to look spectacular is a quick daily once-over with a quality treated dust mop. And that's really great because we have two small children and a dog, and this flooring is in the area of our house where we spend the most time. If you like a uniform color to your floor, I'd still recommend this brand, but I'd go with one of the pricier selections. We chose this one in particular because we thought the color variance was charming and "funky." Either way, you'll be pleased -- it's truly beautiful, and it can take a beating and still stay that way. My floor's daily traffic consists of two kids, a dog and a pair of high heels. Two years later, it's as gorgeous as the day it was installed. I even once dropped a knife by accident, and the blade landed right in the middle of one of the planks. When I pulled it out (terrified, of course that I'd have to replace the whole plank), you couldn't even tell there had been a knife stuck in it. How many floors can be stabbed and still look amazing? Seriously! You will not be unhappy if you put this flooring in your house. It will not let you down. (Which, let's face it, is the most important quality a floor can have. ;-)

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horizontal Natural Bamboo:
I am almost done putting this in my entire house (except in the bathrooms). I absolutely love the look. The color variations are rather large, but that adds character to the floor.
One thing I did not expect was that the pieces would be beveled at the end joints...the result is that it does not look like they meet tightly. However, I got used to that really fast. I love the feel of the bamboo when I walk on it.
I already have some small dents in the floor...but I knew that the wood would not be super hard, so I knew what to expect...can't complain!

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horizontal Natural Bamboo:
I had floor installed in kitchen by contractors. It went down easily and resulted in great look. Scratching is my only concern as already I see some evidence which must have occurred as being carefully installed.....not even typical wear and tear.
