Good product overall. Some boards had defects, but it's wood and wood has defects. Occasional end split, but not bad. Superior product at a superb price!

The flooring is a great looking color and very easy to install as this was my first time installing a floor and the outcome came out fantastic! Awesome price too. Much cheaper than what I did find at HD.

Q:
does this product need to sit in the installation environment for a week or two prior to being installed?1 answer
A:
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdfQ:
Can this floor be sanded and restrained in the future?1 answer
A:
Yes it can.Q:
What kind of underlayment do I need to use under this flooring if it is going over an existing oak hardwood floor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
1st floor, 15lb felt paper. 2nd floor, red rosin paper. You may run the new flooring diagonally or perpendicular over the existing hardwood. When running the new flooring in the same direction as the existing hardwood the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommends adding a layer of real plywood of at least 3/8” in between the new and the existing hardwood floor. This allows both floors to expand and contract in relation to humidity without affecting the other. ¼” Luan is not recommended for naildown applications because it is not a structure board.Q:
what type of quarter round goes best with the Koka Oak? Floor looks awesome in our new kitchen!1 answer
A:
Unfortunately we do not have an exact matching quarter round, but the matching shoe molding SKU # is 10015636.Q:
Can I buy the stain used on this wood? I have a few spots I scraped / dented a bit during installation that I want to touch up.1 answer
A:
Unfortunately this stain is not available in a can for retail sale. I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring to a paint store and they should be able to match the stain for you.Q:
Do you have employees that will install the hardwoods and if so, what is the price?1 answer

I noticed that the question regarding a large dog was danced around a bit, but I am really needing some guidence regarding a flooring that will stand up better than others to a very large dog! I understand that there are all sorts of things that factor into how a floor will withstand kids and pets. I'm am just needing to know what type of flooring will hold up the best?1 answer
A:
Harder species such as (in order of hardness) Curupay, Brazilian Walnut, Brazilian Ebony, Brazilian Teak, Brazilian Chestnut, Bolivian Rosewood, Brazilian Redwood, Stand Bamboo, Brazilian Rosewood, and Bloodwood have a Janka Rating of 2800 up to 3840. The standard of measure is our Red Oak (rated at 1290)Q:
Is a glue-down install possible with this product? I need it in a basement bedroom that's on a slab.1 answer
A:
This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.Q:
Is the edge of each board a flat butt or a round butt. I am bumping this floor against a natural oak unfinished (old type) flooring that was sanded and finished by hand.1 answer
A:
The Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Koka Oak flooring will have a slight bevel on all four sides. We do have white oak and red oak unfinished flooring that has no bevel.Q:
We have a large Newsfoundland dog. How will this product hold up to him, running to door etc.1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear.
