Quick Highlights: It's the first time ever we have seen random length strand handscraped bamboo. The random lengths will give the floor a more natural look. This is a great product at a great price! Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision. This product was installed in my home recently by a couple of DIY'ers (myself and my husband)in our kitchen living room combo. After reading many reviews I was worried that it would be extremely difficult to install and hard to find the right tools. I rented a ProNail P50 first...cleats broke the tongue. Purchased a Norge 4 and 1 Brad Nailer and it worked like a charm! However I wouldn't use the nailer on your first row near a wall. When it shoots the Brads it will leave a mark in the top of the wood that looks like a staple was put in...and the top may sometimes crack. Simple solution? Use a finish nailer. Absolutely beautiful product. As for underlayment...we used 15 lb. roofing felt. No squeaks...and no movement in the flooring. Highly recommend!

Q:
Does bamboo scratch easily? How durable is it?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Bamboo will have the same scratch resistance as any oak or maple refinished flooring. Tips - Strand Bamboo will dent less easily because of it's hardness and light colors will hide scratches better than dark.Q:
Can this be product be used in a small second bathroom1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Bamboo is acceptable for installation in a bathroom, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink and tub because an excess of water can damage wood or any floor besides tile. Also you will need to wipe up any water as soon as possible. For a bathroom that is showered in everyday, especially by children, there is often just too much water on the floor as well as variance in the temperature and humidity for solid wood floorings. Good ventilation is a must.Q:
Does this product emit any odors? I've read about problems with formaldehyde odors from bamboo floors.1 answer
A:
The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and most meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations, which is listed on the boxes. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.Q:
