Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 4" Natural American Cherry:
I installed this Bellawood natural cherry hardwood in my living room. It looks fantastic; however, I am very unhappy with the finish and strength of the product. I received other samples prior to buying this product, and the oaks were weaker, but the Bolivian hardwood was the toughest (I didn't get a sample of this product before buying). While installing the wood I had to buy new knee pads that were all rubber, because the metal grommets on my former knee pads scratched the finish easily. In my opinion, a product with a "50 Year Warranty" should perform better than this one. I am expecting to have to pay to have it resanded and refinished in a year or two which defeats the purpose of buying a pre-finished product in the first place. If you are going to buy a pre-finished product, then I recommend buying various samples of the different products you are considering, and then beating the snot out of them to see which of the samples holds up the best to dents, dings, and scratches. I wish I would have checked with this product prior to purchasing it. Despite all of this, the hardwood looks phenomenal in my living room. It drastically changed look and feel of the room.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 4" Natural American Cherry:
Though I enjoy woodwork, I'd never laid a floor before. My husband was very skeptical, as this stuff isn't cheap, and thought we should hire professional installers. It was way easier than even I expected and the results are great. My husband is impressed!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 4" Natural American Cherry:
I've installed American Cherry throughout my entire house, approx 3000sq/ft and counting. The material is beautiful when you first install and it gets better with age as the sun bakes in the rich colors American Cherry is famous for. Install is pretty standard, no splitting or chipping when nailed. I wouldn't recommend in a mud room or bathroom. The finish is showing signs of wear in these 2 areas of my house.
I'm planning an addition this summer and American Cherry is definitely going down in the new space.

Q:
How much will Natural American Cherry darken? We purchased for our kitchen to match "Canadian Cherry" that exists in the living/dining rooms. In the store both products match but the new product arrived and is alot lighter than our existing. The store says it goes in lighter and will darken over time. It's a gamble if it will really darken to match our existing. I would say it is approx. 3-4 shades lighter. Has anyone experienced this? Scary!1 answer

American Cherry is a very soft hardwood and can dent fairly easy, 26% Softer than Red Oak. I have a harder hickory Bellawood floor that holds up extremely well to our Hound Mix and Boxer. Not to mention nieces, nephews, and work shoes. Excellent finish. Harder floors like hickory or exotic will dent less easily. 3/4" hardwood can also be refinished in the future several times. Light colors will hide scratches. Remember nothing is scratch proof but some do better than others.
