Morning Star Click Bamboo - 1/2" x 5" Prefinished Solid Natural Clic Strand Bamboo Flooring - 30 Year Warranty

Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- Backed by a 30 Year Warranty

Natural: Bamboo in its natural, unstained state.

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

    Great flooring, easy to install.

The boards are very precisely made so they click together smoothly with very little gap between them. The final look is great.

Lot Doesn't Match the Others Purchased

      • Cheap

      Best Uses

I bought the bamboo to re-floor our house - 4 bedrooms and a hallway upstairs & living, dining and family rooms downstairs. I didn't want to pay the expensive delivery fee so I bought the wood room by room and picked it up from the store. The first two rooms were easy to install and looked beautiful!

We started the 3rd room and the wood not only looked significantly lighter, but the locking system seemed to be different b/c we couldn't lock pieces from the new lot into the older lot. The wood also seemed to weigh less and seems "cheaper." (We're actually going to weigh wood from the two lots to compare.)

I'm going to try to exchange the wood but we've already opened the boxes b/c we were told by the salesmen that the wood needed to acclimate to the house environment for 2 weeks before being installed.

Unfortunately, what started out as an exciting home project has turned into a very frustrating experience.

The space it needs if it gets humid is way more than you would ever think. Leave at least a half inch all around the perimeter, get wider trim if you need to. Fixing the buckles is a real pain and sometimes entails lifting the floor back up. They suggest one quarter inch, don't believe it! We had these boxes open and in the house for MORE than 6 months, and it still buckled. We still LOVE the floor!

The Strand Bamboo was used in a Master Bedroom for a lady in her 70's. She is very hard to please and like products with consist coloring. The Natural Strand Bamboo along with its Hardest was the perfect choice for her application. We added to more rooms in the white washed Bamboo. will be installing it July 7th. Please make sure that you acclimate 2 weeks before installing.

Looks great, seemed to go down easily (I had professional installers).

The 2 week acclimation period is something to consider in scheduling and in making sure you have enough product to start with!

I bought 600 ft of this flooring to use in my living room. I put the floor down myself over Quiet Walk pad with my Son's help.It was easy to put down, the joints are very tight, very well engineered and precise. The tools you must have is a compound miter saw, table saw and coping saw. Start on the longest wall and click together. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. The guy's at the Holly Hill store were great. One of the 30 boxes I bought was torn up by a folk lift. I called to tell them and they told me to bring it back for an exchange, no issues.

Shrunk at least ½" and some places ¾ inch, leaving gaps around the wall. I did everything correct.. 2 weeks acclimation time and we have a whole house humidifier set to high. Just hoping it expands in the spring. Don't know what to do next winter though???

I have a dance studio that I would be interested in placing this down. My big concern is actual tapping on it and how it would wear up to daily classes of use. Also, with all the padding and wood quality, would the sound be crisp and clear, or muffled coming off this floor, any reviews from people using it for the same purpose as I? A soft shoe as ballet, jazz, or ballroom I am sure would be ok, but tap?

It should sound okay enough for classes. May be a bit muffled for a performance. You might want to visit one of our stores, many floors can be walked on so you might be able to test with some tap shoes, and add a little culture to that store! Accidents, when cleaned up quick isn't an issue but if left to dry it can burn finish as urine is a caustic. I recommend an indoor dog potty.

Is this a good choice for a bathroom with a shower? I read elsewhere on this website that bamboo may not be the best choice due to the damage that can be done to it by water, but everything I've read on this seems to indicate that it may work in a bathroom. What is the best choice for bathroom? I really don't want ceramic tile.

A full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for bamboo or hardwood. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas.

Table saw & power miter saws are the way to go, use a 60 tooth carbide tip blade.
