BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural White Oak Prefinished Solid Hardwood Flooring

What makes Bellawood so Unique? We carefully hand select each species from regions across the globe that are known to produce denser woods and that exemplify the species' finest qualities. That's why we say, "It's more than hardwood. It's Bellawood."

An extremely popular flooring choice in American homes, White Oak is characterized by its gorgeous light brown coloring, with slight pink and gray tints cast across some boards. Not to be outdone, its open grain is absolutely captivating, with long rays and the occasional swirl and burl. Put simply, it?s flooring that quietly demands attention coupled with the unmistakable beauty of oak.
This product is proudly finished in the USA.

About "Natural Grade" Flooring:
Natural Grade flooring has some color variation, mineral coloring and small knots. It can also be referred to as #2  or Third Grade. Natural grade flooring will have a slightly longer average plank length compared to Rustic grade products.

Crafted Meticulously. Harvested Responsibly. We understand the importance of healthy forests. That's why we only buy from suppliers who practice responsible harvesting and carefully manage their cutting with replanting strategies in place. For us, it's not just about being responsible citizens. It's about being a responsible business too.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

    • Q:

We recently installed 3/4" x 5" white oak flooring in our bedroom and have almost a complete box left over. We plan to order more of the same for installation into our living room next winter. We are currently storing the leftover material in the original box laying flat inside the house, but because of space concerns would like to move it into either the attic, the garage, or stand it on end in a closet. What is the best way to store it long term?

    • Q:

We are installing this next to an already installed (20 years ago) wood floor. The colors don't match exactly. Will the color of this Natural White Oak Flooring lighten or darken slightly when in the sun?
      Asked on 7/3/2013 by Jag

        A:

It should darken but how much is hard to say. Here's something that helps explains the patina process.
Wood products can be dramatic in appearance, especially the exotics. Only factory made products such as tile, vinyl, and wallpaper will have uniformity of color. Keep in mind that wood and corks are natural product and no two installed floors will be identical. Variations in appearance are completely normal and are a desired characteristic. As your floor ages, color or shading called “patina” can occur. This process can be rapid the first 3 months, less in 6 months, then finishing off in about I year. Moving the furniture and rugs around helps to even out areas that were not exposed to light. Try to avoid large area rugs for the first 3 months.
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes.
When installing wood floors, select boards from several boxes. Working from one box at a time can create poor color grouping or placement of any flooring. Any one board you feel is unacceptable to install can simply be discarded, replaced with the 5-10% overage you should have on hand.

    • Q:

I have 3/4" Bellawood White Oak in an addition that I built several years ago. The oak runs over into the existing house where the dining room is, but the rest of the house is carpet. I want to complete the house with the same product now. The issue that I see is that I want to start where the wood left off, but it is the groove end. Is there any way, other than the use of T molding to start groove to groove?

    • Q:

Installed over my floor joist is 1/2" plywood, felt paper and then particle board. Can this flooring be installed on this type of construction? I was told by sales people at lumber liquidators that it could. I have a ventilated crawl space. I have already placed my order for the flooring on the basis of the information given to me by your sales people. If this is an OK installation should I use nails or cleats?

        A:

        SUBFLOOR PREPARATION
Do not install flooring directly over joist without subflooring.
All structural panels/underlayment must be installed sealed-side down, and provide ¾” perimeter spacing. Square-edged or non tongue and grooved panels used as a subfloor will require a minimum 1/8˝ (3 mm) expansion space between all plywood seams.
Panels must meet minimum CDX grade Exposure 1 and US Voluntary Product Standard PS1-95, PS2-04 or Canadian performance standard CAN/CSA 0325-0-92 for construction sheathing. Check underside of panel for codes. Minimum of 3/8˝panel thickness is recommended when used as an underlayment.
Note that joist spacing determines minimum subfloor thickness.
        • Joist spacing 16” on center (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (5/8˝) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum (3/4˝, 23/32”) Advantech Minimum (3/4˝, 23/32”)
        • Joist spacing 16” up to 19.2” (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (3/4˝, 23/32”) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum of (3/4˝, 23/32”)
        • Joist spacing over 19.2”up to maximum 24” (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (7/8”) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum of (1”)
        • Particleboard or Masonite: is not recommended, remove or cover with 3/8” plywood.
•Avoid pressure treated plywood for interior use as these can have high moisture content and latent with rot resistant chemicals.

    • Q:

Do you have any darker shades of Bellawood - oak flooring?
      Asked on 3/23/2012 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

Bellawood products are solid material with a clear finish over them. We offer it in both select and natural grade; the natural grade will be a bit darker as it has more mineral deposits on it. Please feel free to contact our product specialists at 1-800-476-0007 with any additional questions or to further discuss your project.

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

I have a Bellawood floor that holds up extremely well to our Hound Mix and Boxer. Not to mention nieces, nephews, and work shoes. Excellent finish. Harder floors like hickory or exotic will dent less easily. 3/4" hardwood can also be refinished several times. Light colors will hide scratches. Remember nothing is scratch proof but some do better than others. Regardless of the floor you choose, keeping nails trimmed is a good idea. Urine, when cleaned up quick isn't an issue but if left to dry it can burn finish.
