Q:
on the shorter side of the reducer (the part that would meet the lower surface) how tall is it off the ground. (example) if the lowerface is at 0 inches is the lowest part of the reduce 1/4 ich above it or deos it slant all the way to "0"= even with the lower surface?

  It does not reduce down to zero inch because it is made of wood and will splinter off, the blunt end is about 1/8" thick.
