Q:My installation requires the t-mold to be installed over the premium underlayment. Do I need to "remove" this underlayment in order to "glue" the t-mold directly to the wood subfloor?
A:You will need to 'cut out" a strip of the underlayment in order to secure the transition to the subfloor with nails or glue.
Q:I have need for a T-molding that is longer than the 6' - do these come in any longer sections? If not is there a preferred way to make a joint?
A:Please call our Tech and Installation Dept. @ (800) 366-4204 for a detailed answer to your question. Thank you for your inquiry.
Q:I bought the T-molding, but it did not come with any track to put it down. Is this a mistake? If not, how do I get the track to snap it into?
A:This does not come with any track, these types are generally installed as any solid hardwood installation would be. However, this is for a floating bamboo floor. You can use a urethane adhesive in a caulking tube and apply a thick bead of adhesive directly to the subfloor and sit the molding in place allowing the bottom of the T-molding to sit into the adhesive. Apply weights on top of the molding until the adhesive cures. If the bottom of the molding does not reach the subfloor, cut a shim and glue it to the bottom of the t-molding and once cured glue the whole piece to the subfloor. The T-molding has a total thickness of 1/2" the vertical part of the T-molding is about 1/4" thick.
Q:what is the best way to fasten the threshold or T-moulding on a floating Tongling floor over concrete. i read that they may be fastened by predrilling, not sure i want to put a hole in the moulding. can it be glued?
A:Yes you could glue it down using a 100% urethane construction adhesive.
