Fit perfectly and well made. I stained it to color of the flooring and simply popped it in place. Easy as that!
Grate product. sanded great, stained great, sealed great, finished great and it looks great. I installed three of these in a floor that was cut from boards made from trees on our property. The planks were thicker than commercially available lumber so the installation required some custom work but it turned out beautifully. The only "con" is I wish I knew about it before I installed the floor!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Thes are designed to drop in just like regular metal vents, so they will sit on top of the floor. they are rounded on top and will be 3/8" higher than the floor.
