We purchased this high quality red oak for our master bedroom. We had it professionally installed and then stained. It looks beautiful! If you're looking for a good red oak to match with existing flooring or just a new hardwood, we highy recommend this flooring.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
Product was used for a 12x13 bedroom. Turned out great, but there was just too many small pieces per bundle to give 5 stars. I also like the wood to have a little more color variation (more red).

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
This new red oak select blended with our old floor perfectly. We were combining two rooms, one of which had ceramic tile. My installer blended the wood seamlessly. The old floors were desperate for a refinishing anyway, so now they all look brand new.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
I installed about 1200 square feet of the 3/4 X 2 1/4 unfinished select red oak hardwood flooring in my kitchen, dining room, 2 bedrooms and living room. As I was doing this while still living in the house, it was not easy moving furniture around, but I did manage to finish, all the way down to applying the polyurethane (3 coats). The most difficult part of the project was sanding after installation. I suggest to anyone running a drum sander and/or edge sander for the first time, be very carefull and don't rush. Remember that every cross-grain scratch or divit you make while sanding will show up when the finish is applied. I managed to eliminate all but a very small number of imperfections in the process.
All-in-all, the floor looks absolutely beautiful and the wood was nearly all usable. There were a very small number of boards that were defective. Not even 5%.

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
R.L. Colston is an unfinished flooring that requires site sanding and finishing. Today's hardwood finishes are most durable and are applied in a quality controlled environment. We offer several pre-finish coatings, whereas most site-finished floors -sanded and finished at the job site- would only have two or three coats applied, then these must be air dried.Q:
