The guys at the store were great. Helped load the wood in our minivan. We had to take a few loads and they worked with us each time.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Richmond Plank Handscraped:
We had these floors installed in our dining room and our family room 4 years ago. We were so pleased with them that we decided to finish the remainder of our 1st floor this year. We did the foyer, hallway, staircase and our whole kitchen and we couldn't be happier with how it looks. We used to have a large dog (100 lbs Boxer) and he scratched up the floors pretty good but you can only see the scratches when the sunlight is shining on them, otherwise the durability seems to be pretty good.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Richmond Plank Handscraped:
We have this floor in our family room, and we are adding it to another room. It's beautiful, but the difficult part is that you can't really clean it easily. It says to only clean it with this special cleaner, and you can't ever really "wash" it, which I like to do. It can be scratched - I have had my chair move just right and scratch it. I bought pieces of carpet to put under the chair to protect it from further scratches.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Richmond Plank Handscraped:
We are very pleased with this wood, and love the way our new floors look. We installed about 600 sq feet this past weekend, without any problems. The only thing that we don't care for (although it's not major) is the slightly spongy feel of the floor (with the Quiet Walk pad). We were told, by LL, that the "spongy feeling" would lesson over time. We hope so, but we're still thrilled with the floors regardless.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Richmond Plank Handscraped:
I had this product installed in my family room and hallways which are my high traffic areas. It does scratch easily; however the scratches are surface scratches and really can't be seen when the floor is cleaned and polished. I even scratched past the surface, but because of the detailing of the hand-scraped design, you can't find the scratch unless it's pointed out. I have a teenager, a pre-teen and an 80lb German Shepard who remains indoors and we have absolutely no problems with our floors. It's been 8 mos since installation and I still receive many compliments. I have decided to use this product in my bedrooms as well as my formal living room, I Love It!!!

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Richmond Plank Handscraped:
We decided to have our floor professionally installed because of lack of free time to do it ourselves. It was glued down. This makes it very quiet.
I had some doubts about putting the wood floor in the kitchen & entry, but Jack (the installer) assured me it would hold up to traffic. So far, no complaints and we have had the flooring for about 6 months.
This flooring cleans easily, I just dust mop it every day to pick up any sand or gravel that is brought in on shoes & clean it occasionally with the wood floor cleaner. We have a normal amount of traffic in our home, including 3 toddlers who visit often.
I have one small ding in the kitchen where I dropped a can, but other than that the whole floor looks great. Just use a little caution and common sense when moving furniture accross the floor to avoid scratching it.
I have received many comments on how nice the floor looks. One person said she was having her wood floor ripped out & replacing it with the handscraped type because she like the feel.

Q:
Can the 7/16 or 1/2" engineered hardwoods be installed over concrete floor with radiant heat in concrete?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Floating Engineered hardwood, tongue and groove engineered and certain laminate flooring can be used over most radiant heat. Some flooring does perform better than others with radiant heat applications. The important thing is to follow the particular flooring manufacturer recommendations for radiant heat as well as sustaining recommended temperature and humidity. In addition the radiant heat manufacturer's recommended floor coverings must be considered as not all floors may be appropriate.Q:

I bought this very floor and love it. Can I use the wet swiffer on this floor? The product says safe unless wood is unfinished or oiled or waxed, and I don't think this floor is any of these.1 answer

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.Q:
