I've never bought laminate flooring because I've seen what happens with normally wear and tear on it. And once laminate gets wet, it's ruined. This new click together vinyl flooring can withstand water and hold up the roughest of children. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. We get compliments from everyone that visits our home.

This is great because it installed well over a great pad on my concrete slab. It feels nicer on the feet than the lino I had in the kithen, and is much easier to clean in the living room & hall than the carpet. Don't know yet if it'll be cold in winter, but area rug and slippers would solve that! My independent installer RAVED about the quality!

                      Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was a bit delayed, but only by a couple of hours rather than days for the flooring itself. The delivery guys were hurting at the end of a long day of delivering, and had a difficult push of the pallet jack up my driveway, but they did great! The matching trim had to be shipped later, but the LL guys hunted around and found it. When we ran out of the flooring (NOT the fault of LL) I called and they put aside just what I needed and I drove to get it.

                                  from PA

Purchased this for a small bathroom. Installed it and took it apart and reintsalled it four times. Although it is tongue & groove, it does not lock togeather and tends to move around. Had a real hard time keeping all the tiles togeather. Now I know why the discreption says "it can even be uninstalled and moved to another room later on."

Looks nice, but I would never buy this type of flooring again.

                                      A:

No, like most all our flooring HVAC environmental control is required year round. If you build a wood subfloor with a Poly Sheeting Moisture Barrier under it you may be able to use an unfinished quarter sawn oak finished with a natural penetrating sealer.

Wood flooring is a dynamic material subject to changes in dimension as a result of changes in humidity in the surrounding environment. It is recommended that the rooms that will have prefinished wood installed be climate controlled with temperatures of 50 to 80 degrees F., preferably 65 to 75 degrees F. humidity of 35% to 55% maintained. In addition, the rooms should not be closed off from a normal air flow. Therefore with prefinished flooring, you will experience problems in a non-environmentally controlled area. Our most stable flooring is our engineered, bamboo, cork, and laminate. They too recommend climate control in their expressed warranty's.

Urethane finish can't handle the dimensional changes that take place with extreme environmental shifts,

HOWEVER you can use an unfinished hardwood (preferably quarter/rift sawn) finished with tung or other natural oils as with covered porch flooring. These site finished penetrating sealers expand and contract with the flooring without cracking.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a any floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

                                      MAINTENANCE (Dos and DONTs)
                                      DO
                                      • Sweep or vacuum regularly.
                                      • Use cleaning products safe for vinyl planks.
•TEST cleaning products before use. Mineral spirits applied to a clean rag can be used for spot cleaning.
•Use non-staining casters, floor protectors on chair and table legs to distribute furniture weight and protect against scratches and indentation damage. (TRANQUILITY planks are scratch resistance, not scratch proof).
                                      • Protect your floor against burns. Planks can be damaged by burns from a cigarette, matches, or other extremely hot items.
                                      • Protect your floor from tracked-in dirt and grit particles by using natural-fiber mats at all outside entrances. Take the time to remove any imbedded grit particles from shoe soles before entering the room. Mats with rubber backings can cause permanent discoloration.
                                      • TRANQUILITY planks have good resistance to stains, not affected by most common household spills; however, any spill should be cleaned up immediately. The longer the spilled material is left on the floor, the greater the risk of permanently staining the floor.
                                      DO NOT
                                      • Do not use paste wax or solvent-based polishes.
                                      • Do not use abrasive cleansers or mop with soap-based detergents, these products can leave a sticky film on your floor.
                                      • Track in tar or asphalt from driveways, as this can also discolor vinyl.
                                      • Use caution with stiletto type high heels on your floor, these can cause permanent damage.
                                      • Avoid the use of rubber or latex-backed mats, as certain rubber compounds can permanently stain vinyl
(Consult the mat manufacturer to determine if the backing is safe for vinyl planks).
                                      • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods; this can result in tile discoloration. Excessive temperatures might cause tile expansion or edge curling. During peak sunlight hours, the use of drapes or blinds is recommended especially on patio doors, etc., that receive intense sunlight.
