NIRVANA by Dream Home- 8mm Royal Mahogany Laminate Flooring- 25 Year Warranty

Dream Home's Nirvana line of laminate floors will fill your home with harmonious style.
This product has it all: an 8mm moisture-resistant core PLUS a 3mm pre-glued sound-proofing foam underlay, the feel of real wood grain and a 25 year warranty.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, Quiet Walk or the Eco Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments offer best joint/seam support while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities, these properties are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

NIRVANA Flooring Advantages:
- Real wood grain
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 8mm + 3mm pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3

Good laminate did the job

By Bill

from Lancaster SC

I bought what I could afford and to finish my project I needed 9 more bundles 3 weeks after first purchase. Forget it, the product is discontinued. I knew this could happen hence the name so I verified with them before leaving and they assured me it was a regular product and wouldn't happen in 3 weeks time not to worry. It did, I was out I thought and then I spoke to Christine in sales. So helpful and reassured me she would try to help. She found the last of it in the same store. I can get my 9 bundles and be done. she is a life saver and I told my customers for years to never buy from them unless you bought it all at once. I didn't take my own advice but Christine showed me why they are around and it's because they have great customer service.

  • Looks good

Cons

  • No cons as of yet

Best Uses

  • Works Great In My Office

Dream Home Royal Mahogany is a close enough match to our existing Dream Home Havana Mahogany flooring that has been discontinued because there is a room separation you can't tell the difference in color. Very happy with the floor

Looks great, chips easily

By Renee

Pros

  • Durable
  • Nice color
  • price
  • Sturdy

Cons

  • Chip Easy
  • Not Easy To Connect

Best Uses

  • Bedroom

We recently laid this flooring in our bedroom, hallway, and kitchen. It is beautiful flooring and we are glad we made this purchase. However, I will warn you that you cannot lay one piece at a time - because of how the flooring snaps together, you must connect an entire row, and then pick up the entire row and connect it to the row before it. For our bedroom, this was easiest with three people. Kayla and I (two mid twenty females) laid the kitchen by ourselves with few problems. My father helped lay the bedroom, and he tended to hit the tapping block too hard.. he not only cracked the block but also caused the boards to chip where they joined with other boards. I was disappointed that the boards were not more durable and chipped upon contact with other boards. However, if you are very very careful, take your time, and lightly tap, you should not have a problem with this product. Bottom line - don't let an impatient man help you.

The perfect cheap flooring for my basement. It does take some effort to lock the boards together. Overall I couldn't be happier with how the project came out given how affordable this laminate is.

      snap together flooring

      By Jim Bearce

      from Minford ohio

the tough snap is a terrible design, that brakes off as you try to hook the end and front together.
tough an groove would work much better. The paper that the backing is made of will not with stand snapping the flooring together. Had I not bough 1200 sq I would discard this flooring.

The "New and Improved" locking mechanism was not as easy to install as the fitting on older versions, but overall the product was fine.

      • Q:

We put this product in our family room. Minor spills of liquids cause the edges to turn up and the boards seem to be absorbing the water - as if it gets between the boards and then the boards soak it up and get water damaged. Is this typical? Should this be happening?

          A:

Wax filler sticks, stain markers and color-putty are now available at your local Lumber Liquidators and at most home centers that are used for minor hardwood repairs. This process is used to fill-in face-nails, nicks and gouges. Select the appropriate stick color to match the damaged area. Often several colors are used to blend colors for exotic species, bring a scrap piece of the flooring to match it up. Thank you for your inquiry.

Can this flooring be used in bathrooms? If, so is there anything different that needs to be done for installation? Thanks!
Asked on 12/28/2013 by Matthew from United States

        1 answer

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

Yes, laminates are acceptable for installation in a powder room. It is recommend to put a throw rug by the sink because an excess water can damage wood. You will need to wipe up any water that sit on the floor as soon as possible. However a full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for laminates. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas. Thank you for your inquiry
