BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Select Red Oak Prefinished Solid Hardwood Flooring

We Redefined Quality, Again. We set the quality standard by introducing a groundbreaking finish so tough it allowed us to offer one of the first 50 year warranties. Others followed. So, we raised the bar again. Now Bellawood is backed by a Certified 100 Year Transferable Warranty that covers you and generations to come.

Red Oak is America's most popular choice for wood floors and serves as the industry benchmark when rating hardness among species. It features a reddish tan color and has a distinctive glow that creates an inviting atmosphere in rooms near and far. Better yet, changes due to sunlight exposure are minimal with Red Oak, ensuring a bright and beautiful floor for years to come.
This product is proudly finished in the USA.

Just Install and Enjoy. Each Bellawood floor comes with our exclusive 100 year, UV-cured micro-particle finish already applied. That way you save time and avoid the mess of sanding and finishing after installation. So just install, sit back, relax and enjoy. You've got a Bellawood floor.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Select Red Oak:

I had this product installed by professional people this summer. They were great, but the product itself has flaws. The floors get dented with any little thing dropped on them. For example my car keys put a dent in the floor when I accidentally dropped them. The edges of some of the planks were scratched, rough from the start and "catch" on cloth mop etc., when cleaning.
I thought that the product would be stronger than it is. It does look beautiful, but it is a bummer that you have to be extra careful not to drop anything on it.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Select Red Oak:

Floor looks great and will likely last for many years. There was too much variation in thickness and width which gave my professional installer fits to avoid unevenness and gaps. Would not recommend for high traffic areas as the gaps and rises will accumulate dirt and produce broken edges. May consider engineered product in the future.

The grading of the wood was poor. Not talking color, but knots, sap and heart wood, black spots, etc. My expectations based on the proce was higher. The local store was very helpful and exchanged poor quality pieces. In addition to this 20%, I struggled with additional pieces in hidden areas, cut off bad sections, etc. I have adjoining rooms that will need this grade, but will look for alternates when doing other areas.

We are very happy with the floor. We installed it in our kitchen and it has only been down a few weeks so I can't comment on durability. There were some indentations created from just moving the refrigerator in/out which surprised me. But they are minor and the floor really is beautiful.

                          Service and delivery comments:

Upon pick up I had two boxes with major damage and a few with minor damage. They immediately ordered replacements for the 2 badly damaged boxes and had them delivered to my house free of charge. I thought about requesting replacements for the other damaged boxes but it was very easy to work around any damaged areas. I just set those boards aside and used them when I needed an end piece or an edge piece. I ended up with very little waste.

Select Grade flooring contains natural characteristics such as small knots and minor color variations produced by differences in natural heartwood and sapwood; however, has a more uniform color and longer average plank length compared to Natural grade flooring products.

SELECT GRADE: The grade description is intended only to provide general characteristics of the identified wood grade, and is not all-inclusive. Specific characteristics vary by wood species; however, typically include: slight imperfections in milling; occasional small, tight pin knots to every 3 ft. or small pin holes; burls; and a reasonable amount of slightly open checks. Sapwood – Unlimited. Pre-finished flooring will have a plank face thatʼs practically free of most finishing defects including debris, skips, streaks, blisters, chipping, or scratches. When assembled, flooring should not exhibit gaps exceeding 0.025”or end/side over-wood (e.g. height variation between adjacent boards) exceeding 0.020”. Thereʼs a 5% allowance (10% for exotics) established for pieces exhibiting one or more milling, grading, or finishing defects. Refer to the product warranty for more details.

The general rule is your gap should equal the thickness of the flooring so a 3/4" floor = 3/4" perimeter expansion gap.

There is a Microbevel on all prefinished flooring to allow for very slight thickness differences that happen between after the milling process through the finishing due to expansion.

I need advice from professional installer. I heard this particular hardwood 3/4" x 5" needs to be glued aside from nail/staple. I need instructions on how to apply the glue to the subfloor.

                              A:

All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes.
