Love this flooring...I bought it for my common areas and bedrooms. It looks like a hardwood floor only better...my dogs can't damage it!

The traffic in my split level home comes in on the ground level floor where the family room is located. When there's bad weather this level gets all the rain, snow, and mud tracked in. I've had wood laminate before and although it can be beautiful I was afraid it just wouldn't hold up. I went with this vinyl laminate on my local store's recommendation. This stuff is great! Had a bunch of kids and 2 dogs here at Christmas. After playing in the snow it was inevitable that water would get tracked in. This stuff was impervious to all the abuse they handed it. I still wipe up water spills- just habit from my days of dealing with wood laminate- but even if I didn't I don't think it would hurt this super tough surface. And it looks great too. I love it!

We used this product on our porch and so far it looks great. Easy to install if the sub floor is prepped correctly.

We used this product in an enclosed above ground porch. Since it was recommended for a sauna thought the product will hold up under adverse temperature conditions. The porch looks great, cozy and warm. We had indoor/outdoor carpet and this is a welcome change.

Here is a tip, may sure the you get the first 2 course absolutely straight, even more important here then most materials. The tongue, click together does not hold very well. They tend to be harder to fit together then you'd expect. Take your time.
They do cut nice with laminate cutter (rough) or circular saw for precise cuts. Looks nice when finished. Tough floor, but it scratches easier then a quality laminate floor.

Measure twice, cut once! To make this big job easier, we bought a Compund Miter Saw.
We love the look and feel of this floor. We installed in an un- heated Cabin and the floor is "cozy" under bare feet!

A few scores with the razor then snap perfect cuts. Fits together perfect, just remember to take flooring from several boxes.

Unlike hardwood, there is no warping, splitting, etc. Trimming pieces to fit is very easy with table saw, saber saw or utility knife. Pieces are uniform color and easy to match. With a little planning there is virtually no waste. Finished job looks really nice. One caveat - I don't know how the floor will wear, because it's brand new, but with a 50 year warranty, I'm not too worried (I'm 71 years old).

This seems to be excellent flooring. It has already survived a couple of days of the grand kids. There is a learning curve on joining the planks but after a few rows it was quicker. A friend and I did a 15x20 room in one day. The underlayment was a good idea. Our friends are impressed.

Q:
What can be done to this flooring to keep the end joints from coming unlocked, which is creating large gaps (1/2" and larger) between the ends? Also, the 1/4" perimiter gap has grown to 1" to 2" on some runs. The trim doesn't cover the gaps anymore in some spots. This is installed inside, climate controlled. It is getting very annoying to have to go down each run and "kick" the flooring back together, closing the gaps, only to have it happen again, and again, and again!1 answer

I have a seasonal lake cabin in Minnesota. Which means it is closed up in the winter and not heated. I have a concrete slab floor. Can I lay vinyl plank on that, or will the temperature variation from summer 90 degrees to winter minus 20 degrees cause the vinyl problems due to expansion and contraction....or since it is floating will it just move on the edge perimeter of the flooring? If it won't work do you have flooring that will work in these conditions.1 answer
