Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision. The floor is very durable and relatively easy to install. We installed it ourselves, and it took about two days to do 1,100 square feet. We have two dogs, both over 100 pounds, and have yet to see a scratch caused by them. The floor is very dark, so it does show hair and dust. We sweep on a regular basis, and mop the floor with Murphy's Wood Soap at least once a week due to the high traffic in our home. People always comment on how beautiful the floors are when they visit.
Great looking floor and easy to install. Feels a little different than hardwood. The look is more engineered than natural.
Love Love Love
We installed 400 sq ft in under 8 hrs today...the floor looks absolutely stunning. Could not be happier. We ordered the amount we needed and didn't have any bad boards.

We installed this floor in the whole house and looks beautiful. We have a big dog and when she runs for the door, it makes some marks, which mopping will remove. It doesn't scratch easily but if it does, all you need to use is Restore.A.Finish in Dark Walnut, shake it well before use. the flooring is extremely hard and that's why it so hard to install, we did it ourselves and it was worth it.
This product is so beautiful, I decided to rip out all the carpet, and put it all throughout the downstairs, about 1200 sq. ft. It scratches so easily, even the floor sweeper scratches it, and I cannot get the scratches out. I wish someone would have told me that this product is not good for high traffic areas, and would be better suited to a low traffic place. I feel like I will have to replace them in a couple of years, and is a huge amount of money wasted. (Also it looks dirty really quickly.) On the plus side, it is a strong wood, too bad the top coat is not the same:(

The floors are absolutely stunning. They offer the look we wanted and we are overall very pleased. However, we wish we had really considered how much dirt and dog hair would show on this floor. We have a white and black dog and we are constantly sweeping. Though they are beautiful, I would definitely consider this factor if you have animals or an active lifestyle. We are in and out of our home and it's sometimes more of a hassle than it's worth.
Don't buy, scratches very easily which are very visible with the dark color flooring, LL scratch remover doesn't help in removing scratches either.

Looks great and can be nailed or glued, just be careful in glue-down installations - the "rough cut" of the boards can let some glue show at the joints. Also, the stain is not very deep with the darker finish and it seems like cuts & scratches will be very noticeable. Good news is that the distressed look of the wood is very easy to touch-up and the normal nicks & dents don't really affect the look.

Q:
Can this product 9/16 x 5 1/8 songjiang strand flooring be installed over intact vinyl sheet good flooring? I intend to nail it. Do I still need a builders or felt paper? When installing in a bathroom or near a sink or dishwasher do I need to caulk the perimeter edges?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, hardwood/bamboo/engineered/cork/laminate can be installed over well secured firm kitchen vinyl. Vinyls that are rubbery, heavily embossed, or foamy must be removed for a firm floor. For naildown flooring, vinyls that are covered over tend to sweat, so as a barrier use red rosin paper or black 15lb roofing felt under the new wood flooring. Your subfloor needs to be plywood or approved OSB under the vinyl for naildown installation.Q:
Was this product previously called Shing Palace? Was anything else changed, or is it exactly the same product?1 answer

A:
This is a solid bamboo product designed to be nailed or glued to a your substrate.Q:
We have noticed that some of the boards have quite a bit more distressing than others (and much more than the demo at the store!) and dirt, etc. gets caught in them creating a cleaning hassle. If we were to sand these select boards a bit, is there a way to buy the exact same water-based lacquer that was initially used so we can re-stain them to match?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately this finish is not available in a can for retail sale. I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring to a paint store and they should be able to match the finish gloss for you. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
My son spilled something on the floor that makes it look spotted. What do I do to clean it? We have the dark bamboo floor which was installed in September.1 answer

Hi,1 answer
A:
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes.
