Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
We love this wood. We have installed it in our living room, office, hallway and 1 bedroom. With plans to put it in 3 more bedrooms. Be warned though, this wood is great if you do not mind showing wear and tear. We wanted our home to look as if the floors had been around for 100's of years.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
I used 1000sqft of this flooring in my log home. I needed something that would go good with a log home, and wanted something a little different than the typical pine floor, didn't want to spend alot of money and wanted a board wider than the 5" wide prefinished flooring available. So, I decided on 7 1/8in unfinished. I put a small bevel on all the edges using a small hand plainer, then took off the mill marks with a small sander before installing each piece. Once I got set up, each piece took only a few minutes. Most pieces were nice and straight, so installation went well. My only complaints were to many short pieces 1 1/2ft long, longer boards that had to be cut shorter because of knots going all the way through, or imperfections on the edges and some cupping. Other than that I was happy overall with the boards. I only needed some touch up sanding to remove small marks or dirt and I was ready for finishing.

I love this floor. I have it in 2 bedrooms, a hallway and a TV room. I was trying to match tulip wood from the mid 1800's and this is more yellow but equally beautiful. In the sunlight it is almost Gold and with ambient light it is a mellow pale tan. It is so beautiful

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
We were very happy to order the wood and then pick it up the next day. It was easy to install, we did have to trim all end boards for a smoother finish and there were lots of knots, however we wanted the look of vintage flooring not off the shelf. We could not be any happier and we plan to finish five more rooms with this wood.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
The milling of the flooring was poor to say the least. A lot of cupping and and knots larger than the stated possiblities of a #2. I was disappointed to say the least. The price was the temtation but I'd suggest using a 33% waste figure when deciding on using this product, Would have been cost effective to have selected another product. I also believe moisture content may have exceed ASTM standards.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
I used this material to replace all the flooring on the main floor of my flood damaged home except the bath and laundry. There was very little waste as I am a fan of real wood and have no problem with knots in the wood. Only disappointment was the non-square ends. I would like to believe that with the excellent milling on the tongue, grooves, and surface, squaring the ends wouldn't be too difficult. Would have saved me a lot of time considering the large areas I was flooring. I finished the floor with oil based polyurethane and the end result is a beautiful golden wood floor.

Instead of telling what we tried and didn't work, I will stick to what did work.We purchased the 5" and 7" wide plank. (Do not be afraid of using wide planks. Google wide planks. If installed correctly, they will not cup.) Cut every single end off so they are straight. We wanted the rustic look so we used #8 2" black dry wall screws for the top. (Antique nails are about 3x the cost of regular nails.) Take time to google installation of wide plank flooring of anything wider than 5". The nailing is different, so pay attention. Some boards might be warped, but we just pried them in, took some work and male muscles, but it went. We cut out all the knots that were more than 1/2 deep. The knots that were only less than 1/2 way deep, we filled in with wood epoxy, to keep the knot look (looks deep, but it is filled in with clear plastic). We chose to stain first then install. You must predrill before screwing down the board. We did most of the work ourselves and hired someone from church to keep us going. If we would have used flooring from a floor store with them installing, it would have cost us $12,000. We spent [$] on southern yellow pine from LL and another $1200 to pay for our friend help us install. We saved a TON of money. We are exhausted, but it turned out beautiful! My house is rustic and the floor really sets things off. In the photos, I still have to put 4 coats of varnish on and do the trim, but you get the general idea of what it looks like.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
The home owner picked out the product for installation on the ceiling of three rooms. We were frustrated by the inconsistency of the product dimensions, making it very difficult and time consuming to pick out pieces that we could butt to each other for long courses. They varied by as much as 1/4" (from 6 3/4" to 7"). If we had purchased it ourselves we would have returned it and made another selection.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 7-1/8" Southern Yellow Pine:
In every pack you will get 2 longer sections (8ft), 2 medium sections (4 to 6 ft), and 4 short sections (2 ft). I really wish they would skip all these short sections. It's impossible to work them into a reasonable pattern. Also, too many of the pieces had poor grain patterns. Very little heart wood and very few quarter sawn. Lots of boring flat grain that looks almost like plywood. Otherwise everything was fine.

I'm considering this for an basement ceiling application where I would paint the flooring. Is the flooring an OK option for ceiling application and is it paintable?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
While we do not have any manufacturer's specifications on how to do ceiling installations, we have had customers install on ceilings using random length Tongue and Groove flooring. One method used is to ring shank or screw plywood first on the rafters(5/8" at least) and then fasten flooring to plywood. Softer woods would be easier to to nail over your head and have less splitting when blind nailing.Q:
How many long pieces are in each box?1 answer
A:
At least one often two.Q:
