St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Toasted Chickory Laminate Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

St. James offers a regal alternative.

At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is recommended for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- 30 Year Warranty

Have to dust every day because of the cat litter. Still easier than vacuuming.
I know my floors are alot cleaner than carpeting which holds everything.
I dropped something sharp which knicked the floor.

        Service and delivery comments:

The installer discovered that the wrong end caps were ordered after the job was started. They could not get the proper end caps in Toasted Hickory in time to complete the job so substituted the closest color available. This effected the finished look because of the lighter end caps.

This product has a shiny finish, so I would never use it on the main floor of our house because too much natural light comes through. It would show every footprint and all the dust. I love it for our upstairs because not as much light comes in so you don't see all the dust and footprints as much. It's perfect for the hallway, bedrooms and bathroom, but I do wear house shoes so it helps with no footprints. I love the product!

                      • Bedroom

I bought this product when on sale and had a good surface strength rating. Out of the box multiple scratches on the surface. During instalation easily chipped. The product did however install very easy. I would have returned but started to find problems halfway through the project and didn't want to pay the 20% restocking fee.

We installed 750 sq ft of this laminate in our dining room, living room, kitchen, and family room. We LOVE it. I haven't had it long enough to comment on the durability. However, it is beyond gorgeous. I've received dozens of compliments, and most people have needed to ask me if it is hard wood, because it's difficult to tell the difference. There are endless pro's, but there are two significant cons. First, it shows EVERYTHING. That comes with the territory with any dark wood flooring. Also, when cleaning, it shows streaks significantly. If you can live with these two things, you won't be disappointed.

                        Best Uses

We installed this in our basement. Unfortunately we had a downspout back up and flood the basement. We discovered it fairly early and pulled up all of the flooring. The water was never above the flooring but the flooring definitely got wet on the underside. We dried and stacked all of the flooring and, to our amazement and pleasure, very few of the pieces were damaged. Only a few had swollen joints that we could not use again. We numbered the boards when we pulled it up so we were able to re-lay the flooring with little trouble. Despite this abuse the flooring still looks great. Just one thing. If you like a shiny floor this will work for you. If you would rather have a matte finish you should look for something else. Overall it is a very good product and has stood up to pretty hard use and still looks good.

This product was beautiful when it was finished but putting it together was tough. I've put down Brazilian kao and American Mason olive and both were of the highest quality and they put down great, this one fell apart on the edges and had knocks and scratches everywhere. Every time I went to put on the next row the tongues or groves were broken

How do I choose which direction to lay the boards? In my townhouse, when you first walk in the small narrow walkway, you are facing a wall with a window and a glass sliding door. The stairs and a closet are on your left, and a wide open dining area is on the right. I can see the benefits of laying the boards both perpendicular and parallel to the walk way, but cant decide.

Determine in which direction the planks will be installed. To make the room appear larger or if installing in very small rooms or hallways, it is preferable to lay the planks parallel to the longest room dimension

Regular Maintenance The under-surface of your new laminate flooring is overlaid with a moisture resistant Melamine resin-coated decor paper. This surface is protected with a very hard, Aluminum Oxide ware-layer to resist dirt, and this “factory cured” finish results in a most durable and one of the easiest surfaces to clean. Therefore, your new Laminate floor does not need to be waxed or polished. Never wet-mop or flood-mop your laminate floor. Never scrub with steel wool or any other coarse materials as this can permanently damage the surface or texture.

The following simple steps are usually all it takes to keep your floors clean.

For general cleaning, use a dust mop, or vacuum (without the beater bar) with the soft-floor attachment of your vacuum cleaner or wipe occasionally with a damp cotton or cloth mop. For heavier cleaning, use our Laminate Cleaner or Hardwood cleaner or similar swiffer type products. Cleaning products should be sprayed or applied to the cloth applicator not directly to the floor. Do not use soap or detergent-based cleaners, wax-based products or any type of polish on laminate floors as these may leave a dull, filmy residue. It is not recommended to wax or refinish your laminate floor.

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Our Bellawood floor cleaner does not contain any polishes ,wax or anything that will build on the surface and is recommended to be used on all our flooring products. I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that is reacting to the Bellawood cleaner. Most likely once the residue is removed from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily. Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes it can be used with the laminate flooring to cover a set of stairs but due to the overlap design of this nosing it would not be my first choice for full flights of stairs.

We sell replacement stairs and risers. Thank you for your inquiry.

Do you need a transitional piece if the floor exceeds 30 square feet? I read this may be needed for expansion?
I think this would look terrible and will have me not purchase laminate flooring.

Unfortunately with this floating laminate extra expansion is required for connected areas over 27 continuous feet.

A little bit of water was spilled on the floor and now a few areas are puffing up. Is there a way to fix this problem without pulling up the boards???

How do you care for the flooring once it is installed? Swiffer dust mop, what? Where can we find care and maintenance information for this flooring?

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor.

Is the top layer of this laminate real wood? If so, how thick is it? Just wondering if it is thick enough to refinish once if I ever had to.

This is not real wood but is a photograph with a wear layer on the surface.
