Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:

PROS: Flooring has nice mix of colors and grains
CONS: The lengths were advertised as mostly 3' 4' and 5' lengths with a few 1' and 6' pieces in each box. In actuality; mostly 2' with a few 1' and 3' pieces. Zero 4', 5', or 6' pieces in 36 boxes. Installer wasn't happy with having all short pieces to install. Especially if you have a long run.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:

I have gaps between boards. But even no gaps makes spills a burden. It does not stay on top of the joints. I wouldn't put this in a kitchen, dining or bath.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:

I had meant to write a review after we initially installed this flooring but it may have more impact now 1.5 years after the installation. The floor looks great across our entire first floor and has held up quite well with 2 children under 5 and a large dog. The floors will get scratches and you will notice them when you are looking at them from within 3 feet of the floor. However, you don't notice any scratches while standing and walking through the space. We mop the floor every two weeks with Murphy's Oil Soap and it has kept the flooring in good shape.

    Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was very good but the install was a challenge because the wood is relatively high on the Janka scale. We repeatedly had to have back blades for the saws ready.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 3-5/8" Tobacco Road Acacia:

The manufacture indicates that each box is factored to contain 20% defects, but in actuality it's much higher. I was left with a pile of defects, and even still am finding some that I installed and didn't notice them during the installation. I found splits and knot holes on the underside, while the top was fine. It was very noticeable that defects and cracks on the top were filled with wood filler but not stained to match the particular piece before the finish was applied. I also tried to use the defected boards along the edges of the room or when I had to rip a piece and could discard the bad section.

I've installed both thick laminate and real wood floors in my house. The thick laminate I installed ( a couple of years ago), has no markings or defects. My new floor has been in for less than a few weeks and already has scratches from dragging a Rubbermaid tote across it. Mind you, you cannot see the scratches from a standing position, but they are noticeable up close.

I spent over 4k on this job. For the money and durability, I think going with laminate is the better decision.

          Service and delivery comments:

Lumber liquidator was great. I will always buy my floors from them.

We had this installed in our family room/living room and hallway. It is absolutely beautiful! Pictures don't do it justice. We are buying more to do our stairs. This is was first experience with Lumber Liquidators and it was seamless and exactly as stated every step of the way. We would like to praise Nataniel from the Waterford store, she really knows the product! Great experience all the way around.

Hi, I need to repair a gash in my floor, and am confident that I can match the color, but wonder what type of final finish this floor has please so that I can poly seal? Satin? Matte? Thanks in advance.

This flooring has a finish gloss that is in between a satin & semi-gloss.
I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring to paint store and they should be able to match the gloss for you. Thank you for your inquiry.

                      Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
                      Thank you for your inquiry.

Can you tell me in detail about the finish of this product? I have read a previous response that states that there are 7 layers of finish. I am most interested in the aluminum component of the finish, and whether it is underneath the polyurethane coating, or if it is mixed throughout the polyurethane. I have small children that are chemically sensitive, and I need to know that the aluminum is not going to absorb through their skin. I am ok with polyurethane.

Based on the manufacturing specifications: this product contains aluminum oxide in underlying layers only. The top coat does not contain any aluminum oxide. Aluminum oxide is chemically bound in the cured finish.

                      A. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for installation over existing flooring.
                      B. Glue‐down parquet applications that require the use of PVA adhesives are not recommended over existing
sheet vinyl or vinyl and cork tile flooring unless an underlayment is put down first. Underlayment should be in
accordance with adhesive and/or flooring manufacturer’s recommendations.
                      C. Particleboard is not generally an acceptable underlayment, because it lacks stability. Some manufacturers
approve particleboard as an acceptable underlayment, as they do not warrant against subfloor movement. In
                      such cases, follow manufacturer’s recommendation.
                      D. Other types of adhesives may require the use of a primer or vinyl blocker when installing over sheet vinyl or
vinyl and cork tile flooring. Follow adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations.
                      E. Nail‐down applications may be successful over existing sheet vinyl or vinyl tile if fastener penetration is not
significantly diminished and the subfloor meets minimum requirements. Fasteners must penetrate a proper
                      subfloor by at least 5/8”.
                      F. Wood flooring can be installed over existing ceramic tile, terrazzo, or marble with proper underlayment or
                      adhesives only on manufacturer's recommendation.
                      G. Installing wood flooring over an existing wood floor.
Caution: Do not sand any surfaces containing lead based finishes/paints or asbestos. Check applicable local
and federal EPA and OSHA regulations. For buildings built in 1978 and earlier, contact the EPA for lead based
testing prior to any sanding (www.epa.gov).
                      1. If safe to do so (see caution above), sand off old finish and or high spots and prep to clean, dry, sound and
flat. Repair, renail or replace loose flooring products as needed.
                      2. Over an existing glue‐down floor, glue direct to the existing floor. Or, if the thickness of the floor will allow
it, staple to the existing floor. Check with the flooring manufacturer for recommendations.
                      3. When installing new wood flooring parallel to an existing solid nail‐down floor, add a minimum of 3/8”
plywood underlayment over the existing floor to increase stability. Check with the flooring manufacturer
                      for recommendations.
                      4. When installing new wood flooring at a 45‐degree to 90‐degree angle to an existing solid nail‐down floor,
additional underlayment may not be required.
