        • Needed For The Bathroom

My install was for a bathroom. The room has cabinets, doors and angled walls. The click process requires you to install short-side first, then angle the long-side in. Not easy feat most of the time. Some pieces took me 15 minutes to install without disturbing the previous piece. Over all it took me three times as long as it should of. The floor looks good, not perfect. The "click" is not always easy. A simple rectangle room would have been easier.

If you use a square to hold tile in place as you tape it in place, it goes down much easier and quicker.
Not a one-person job; need two people!
Had not done this before, so I was a novice; would have been nice if employees would demo how to click tiles together after first row.

As a home owner and installed over 3000 sq feet of laminate, I found this product un-installable. I devoted three afternoons before I called a professional. If you want to be frustrated then try yourself. Attempting to "slide" it as instructed, I burst a palm blood vessel. Whoever designed this product wanted the professionals to install it.

If you want this product then hire a professional. I would not recommend this to anyone attempting to self install.

The product has been down for a week and looks great. My planning was poor and the first time learning curve is 40% in almost everything. In a square / rectangle room it would be a lot easier. The pieces are 1x2 foot which means you will have a pattern. In an oddly shaped room, this means more cutting and measuring from the pattern for each row which leads to more scrap. The click install idea is good but easier in regular laminate where you can bang into place. This product does not work like that. It took an average of 7 cuts with a razor knife across the flooring to bend and cut again per piece. I used a scroll saw and oscillating tool for shaped cuts. Door jambs were also a pain since the product needs to lift to a 30 degree angle to slide in and cannot if it fits underneath something else. I am only hoping the portion in front of the sink holds up to water and all will be worth it.

Why can't we put the flooring under cabinets and is the refrigerator and stove allowed to sit on it?

                            A:

Because it is not recommended by the manufacturer of the product and can cause the flooring to buckle and or gap as the floor expands and contracts.

I would like to install this product in my mobile home over the existing vinyl flooring in the washrooms and kitchen. My home is in Arizona and I am only there during the winter months. Would this type of flooring be suitable in such a hot,dry climate?

                            A:

For best performance, maintain room temperature of 55°F- 95°F. ideally 65°F-75°F. Excess cold or heat can affect tightness of floor seams.
