I placed this product in my master bath. After almost a year the tiles keep separating and they have sunk at the seam. I would not recommend this to my friends.

          Why we chose this product:
My wife and I decided to install this flooring in a mobile home we recently purchased in the mountains of Arizona. We chose vinyl because we wanted to have a consistent flooring throughout the unit and also something that was durable and water resistant. Temperature extremes can be from 40 degrees to 70 degrees in the Winter since it is only heated to keep pipes from freezing while we are away. According to local contractors, wood laminates will not take these extremes.

          If you have dogs:
We have dogs so water resistance is important, dog water bowl and all. We noticed after installing the floor that it is a bit slippery for the dogs. After some time they adjust, but if this is a factor you will want to consider this.

          Installation notes:
I have experience with wood laminate floors and this is easier to trim (use a box cutter) but has unique challenges. The floor was relatively challenging to install only because it requires a bit of arm strength to slide the sections together on the long end. I am 6'2" and consider myself strong, but if you don't do this every day, you may get fatigued. You can use a tapping block, or tap the joint using piece of scrap flooring, but installing by sliding together as shown in the instructions is the best method. I installed 550 sq. ft. in about seven days working by myself 5-6 hours per day.

          Ssatisfaction:
          Overall, we are very satisfied.

          A few tips:
          1. Change blades in your box cutter frequently and score from the tip
          2. When in corners or working around door jambs, trim and put several sections together on the short end then slide the long ends to snap.
          3. Don't forget to use spacers as directed
          4. Make sure you always trim on your unfinished floor - if you must trim on top of your finished floor, use the backside of a scrap piece under the piece you are trimming to protect the finished floor
          5. Use the Eco Sound underlayment, it's worth the added investment. Not only does it help with sound underlayment, it offers some moisture protection. In our case and due to the temperature extremes, this can be a factor.
          6. Keep in mind the flooring is heavy. We had just under 600 sq. ft. delivered. Total weight was about 1,200 lbs. LL offers good prices on delivery so keep this in mind.

          Tiles separating

          Best Uses

I reviewed this product in March of 2013, shortly after we had it installed, and gave if 5 stars. We had it put in a very large area of our house..., living room, dining room, bedroom, & hallway. I loved how easy it was to clean, and that it was not slippery when wet. However, not long after I wrote that review, quite a few of the tiles began separating. The lip on the click together parts is just not sufficient to keep them together. I can tap the tiles with a rubber mallet and get them back together, but after walking on them a few times, they come apart again. The ones most effected are 1 - 3 tiles from an outside edge. We have about 12 tiles that won't stay together. Also, the tiles in the mid-section of the rooms, dip down at each seam. I guess the center of the tiles are actually puffing up a little, making the seams look like they are dipping down. Bottom line...., the tiles won't stay together, and the middle part of the floor is not flat.

This floor is beautiful now that it is down. It took our contractor (handyman) a pretty long time to put it down, but I like the final result. I am hoping it doesn't rise in the summer, because it was hard to put spacers in it so it expands and floats.

This product was installed in the kitchen and both bathrooms of a manufactured home. I am very happy with the look and feel of this flooring. Because of the pattern the installer was able to use odd pieces to finish a small space in the kitchen rather than using a whole new piece. My carpet installer(from one of the home improvement stores) commented that many of his customers were using this product and he highly recommended it.

                        A:

Use a new "wax seal or toilet flange" and place silicone caulk around the toilet flange for protection of your subfloor. Then install toilet according to plumber recommendations.

would it be too subtle to notice?

                    • Q:

I just purchased the TRQ Venetian Cream 5MM. Can I put a layer of 30# felt/tar paper between the concrete slab and the floating floor? There seems to be a glue where there was parquet and also under carpet pad. This felt would prevent the glue from the getting on the tiles.
