I used this tool to install flush floor vents in my existing prefinished 3/4" oak hardwood floor. It is so easy to handle and does not feel like a saw when your using it. With it's various attachments you can make precise 90 degree flat cuts a circular saw can't make. Easy to use when your so close to a wall and a circular saw can not get close to. I heard people using this for jam cuts I'm sure it did fantastic but I also purchased a power jamb saw that takes the guess work out and cuts through the material at a preset height of your choice....take at look at it....

The price lured me to buy this, but after my first cut out of a door surround, I WAS HOOKED! I just finished cutting down 1/4" of a kitchen window jamb (that kept our new granite countertops from fitting level with the rest of the surfaces), and it blew me away how easy and clean the cut was made! For less than $45, you have to have one of these. I am a do it yourselfer and am wondering why someone didn't turn me on to this years ago? So I'm trying to do this for you now!! 2 thumbs up...

This works great for under cutting the door jamb moldings when laying wood flooring. Similar products at home stores are almost double the price. This worked out well for this do it yourselfer.

I used this primarily for cutting around door jambs and it does a decent job. It's better than using a manual saw for those cuts since the tool does all the work. It makes a really high pitched sound, so be sure to use ear plugs when operating. I got this on sale for around $22. For the money, it's a good choice and much cheaper than most multi-tools on the market. I will be using this tool again when installing an additional 1,000 sq ft of flooring.

Laminate flooring was laid in our kitchen and cabinets installed on top. I don't want to remove cabinets, can this tool be used to cut flooring next to the cabinet out? Or would you recommend a different tool?

                                            Ys, this would be ideal.

Incidentally, cabinets should never be installed on top of flooring but rather attached to the subfloor.

This would not be the best tool for this job, I use a hand-held grinder with a masonry cutting wheel for under-cutting brick & stone.
