What makes Bellawood so Unique? We carefully hand select each species from regions across the globe that are known to produce denser woods and that exemplify the species' finest qualities. That's why we say, "It's more than hardwood. It's Bellawood." Brazilian Cherry is one of our most popular woods because of its ideal balance of rich beauty and proven durability. Its majestic colors range from a yellowish tan to reddish brown when just milled, and it deepens significantly to an exquisite deep cherry brown as it ages. For spaces that demand durability year after year, residential or commercial, Brazilian Cherry is an excellent flooring choice. About "Select Grade" Flooring It Taber Tested "the Best." When subjected to the industry sandpaper abrasion test, known as Taber Testing, Bellawood's durability results were more than double most comparably priced floors. There's good, there's better—and then there's Bellawood.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
I installed two rooms at the same time, a 420sqft family room and a 130sqft office. Both rooms came out just beautiful! I have a large German Shepard puppy with a lot of energy, so I wanted a hard floor that would resist wear from his nails as best as possible. I was told this floor would do the trick. I keep his nails short, so when he goes to stop on the floor, there is no issue – he just slides. We have to be careful so he does not try to "get out of the gate" while on the floor or he can leave a small mark that is usually able to be buffed out with little effort.
The only true problem I have with the floor is when he drops one of his larger hard toys or soup bones on the floor. I was not prepared for this, nor did I ask the salesman, but it will leave a "dent", or in some cases, it actually "chips" the clear coat finish. The wood itself remains undamaged. Needless to say we had to eliminate these items from indoor use – dog is not happy. For this reason I would not recommend this floor in a kitchen, dining room, or any other area that is prone to objects dropped from any kind of height. The first time it chips it will make you sick!
The salesman forgot to mention to me about buying extra flooring to compensate for waste and unusable boards. He told me to keep the lot number from one of the boxes, and if (or when) I needed more that they could use the number to locate another box, but it was up to me to go get it? Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find there are very few unusable boards. Some have imperfections on the finished side, but other than that they were all good. Fortunately for me, in my large room there was less than an inch of waste on a run if I planned my lengths out diligently. In the smaller room I was able to take the cutoff piece from one end, and use it to start the next run most of the time. Turned out I did not need another box of floor to compensate for waste, but actually had leftover.
The floor was super easy to install, and now that I look back on my accomplishments, I wish I could just keep doing more! My #1 tip would be that if you have the ability, open all the boxes (or as many as possible) at the start of the project and separate the lengths of board. Some boxes have a ton of 12" pieces and some have more long lengths. If you do one box at a time you might not get that seam flow you are looking for. The more product you have laid out and available to choose from, the better you can mix up the colors and lengths to get the best looking floor.
I miss the ability to "knock around" on the old carpet floor, but the kids are older now, my house is no longer a playground, and the look of the hardwood is nothing short of classy. No more worries of mud tracked on to the carpet; very easy and quick cleanup during all types of weather. If you have a dog, or big puppy in our case, be careful going from carpeting … they are used to flying into the room and our guy slipped one time, wiped out and yelped. They could really hurt themselves until they realize it is no longer a racetrack!
Service and delivery comments:
I ordered the floor on the last day of the sale, December 31, 2012. I was not in a rush because I had other things to get done before I was ready to install the floor, so when I was told the floor would not be in until January 26th, I was okay with it. The end of January turned to February 2nd before I paid my bill, and when I heard nothing I called on the 2nd and was told they don't even get deliveries in on Saturdays? The salesman did some research and called me back about six hours later with a ship date of February 6th.

This is a really hard wood to cut. Blades have to be the best you can find and sharp!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
This went in pretty easily. Two of use worked with a bostich air stapler, and a chop saw with one stapling and one cutting. We had a couple of bad board (warped, or cracked tongue, or just would fit) in approx 140 sq ft. Maybe 10 times in the course of the job a staple missfired and wouldn't seat all the way. Sometimes they would just kind of twist into a wire mess that would have to be pulled out. I would also recommend a pull saw to cut the jambs. We tried a multi tool and it was very slow. Amazingly the room ended on a full width board with no need to rip a board. We also had a very square room and we started even and ended even. Some of the boards are heavier and harder than other sand some just flat out fit together tighter than others. from set up to finish it took us 10 hours of work. It looks great and changes the whole look of the room. Next I have a hallway and then two more bedrooms to do.

Great product for color and rich tones. Best in a traditional setting. Get a profesional to install at least the first column squaring the room.
Service and delivery comments:
Stock of this item is very low at most stores. we had to drive 200+ miles to get sufficient quantity to do our whole floor. Guys at the Lorton store were great. I may drive the 4 hours to get the next batch of wood.

I had a contractor put in our new floor. He said that the wood was the best he has ever put down as far as finishes, installation and color. I had it installed in our kitchen and ajoining half bath/laundry room. We've had it down for a month and are just as pleased with it as we were when it was first installed. The rooms appear bigger. The finish allows for any spills to be wiped up easy. I know I will eventually put in more in the ajoining great room.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
I am an avid do-it-yourselfer...I even built my own house once long ago. But this is the first time I've installed a 3/4" floor. I chose the 2-1/4" width Brazilian cherry and knew it would take longer to install but I am glad I picked that width! Came out spectacular! My wife helped me "book" the rows - she worked ahead and I nailed the courses and cut the end pieces. Very little waste. I had a LOT of long boards in the boxes. My wife has ZERO experience like this but she loved doing it, she said it was like a puzzle. It took us 5.5 hours start to finish after floor prep was done. We were tired but we danced on our new floor! One lesson learned is to make sure you keep your air compressor pressure HIGH. My compressor is an old cheap thing, but I know it very well. I could "tell" when the pressure was getting a bit too low by the sound and I would simply pull the air release to drop pressure to the point it would kick on. I was running about 90psi max and driving 2" T-nails perfectly. I used Bosch nails in a Harbor Freight gun. The Harbor Freight gun is HIGHLY recommended for cost as well as function. ZERO misfires. Bosch nails are good, get them. This went into my office and it is stunning. We bought enough to do our dining room and that's our project for next weekend!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
We cannot say enough about our new hardwood floors which replaced our previously carpeted second floor hallways. The resultant change is stunningly beautiful. The rich and varied colors enhance the walls, bookcase, and entrances to each bedroom. We had a difficult time finding a place that sold the 2 1/4 inch wide size which we wanted to coincide with our first floor hardwood. We are very pleased with Lumber Liquidators for their selection [...]
Service and delivery comments:
The installation by A to Z Flooring was excellent. Attention and concern to detail and workmanship was of high quality.

Q:
I am getting ready to do my whole house in Brazilian Cherry. I am trying to decide if I should use the 3/4 inch or 3/8 inch. Is the only benifit of the 3/4 inch the amount of refinishing you can do or is their other benifits to 3/4 inch (i.e. more solid sound or such)1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes that is basically the only difference.Q:
Can Brazilian Cherry be used in a kitchen ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Absolutely. Hardwood, engineered, laminate (higher warranty laminate is better in high traffic areas like kitchens), vinyl plank, cork, and high warranty bamboo (Morning Star) is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly.Q:
I plan on installing a brazilian cherry hardwood floor in the not too distant future. I really need your recommendations for the tools that I will need (I have not purchased any yet, but would like to start buying them). Also, I know that I will need some type of saw to be able to cut/trim pieces as needed; your recommendation? I am a disabled female so I will need to be cautious of tools that may be too heavy for me. Your help is greatly appreciated!1 answer

Can a steam mop be used1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:
What tool and what fastener (type and length) do you recommend I use to install Bellawood 3/4" x 2-1/4" Brazilian Cherry flooring over a wood subfloor (1st and 2nd floor of house)? Also, what fastener should I use for the starter row (I have "typical" 18ga and 16ga nail guns)? Thanks!1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Cleat nailers rather than staplers are recommended as they have an easier time penetrating the harder exotics. Better chance for 3/4" may be a POWERNAIL nailer. 18 gage cleats w/model 50P and a 3/4" adapter plate can work best on very hard exotics. Or equivalent nailer like our Norge 18ga. Floor Nailer . Use 1-1/2" to 2" cleats.Q:
Can this flooring be installed on particle board?1 answer
A:
Not directly;Q:
