Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
The wood is beautiful, very rich and warm colours, once it was installed it made the room look much better. It is an excellent complement for the oak trim. Out of 10 boxes, only one piece had a slight warp and a couple were damaged, which wasn't a problem since I just ripped those and used them for the final (partial) row.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
Absolutely beautiful color and great finish. This product is the best that I've used. There are two materials problems that I encountered while using it. One is that while a majority of the boards were exactly 5" in width, some were up to 1/8" less. This could have made for gaps between the courses that are very visible. I had to keep all my 'too narrow' boards in one pile and then use them in a course of just short boards. While many boxes had 4 long, 4 medium and 4 short boards, some boxes had a majority of short boards. These boxes also had most of 'too narrow' boards and had color that wasn't as striking as most of the other boards. I think these boxes were probably remnants of a production run that had to be milled shorter and narrower just to get out the door. Can't take any back to Lumber Liq so I mostly found a way to use them but it REALLY slowed down the install process. Beware the 'stiker' boxes (maybe 1 in 5 boxes was like this).
I used Brazilian Walnut as an edge between the cherry and carpet. Looks like 2 million bucks.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
We had this floor professionally installed. Due to the hardness of the wood a special nailer was required. We were disappointed with the amount of defective boards and the variation in width among the boards. This flooring is supposed to be Select Grade meaning there will be minimal color variation and minimum defects, both of which were prevalant in the 1300 square feet we purchased. The width variation is due to poor milling. While I do love the look of the floors I am disappointed with the quality and milling of the flooring. Due to a time restraint we were forced to use some of the defective boards as we did not have time to wait for replacements.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
Currently doing the entire house, have 1.5 more bedrooms to complete. For the most part there was very few unusable planks. And the color variations are stunning. Installation was a breeze, it's always nice when you have your own equipment in lieu of renting. One major notion, the floor WILL DARKEN QUICKLY when exposed to sunlight, be sure to keep the exposed floor free of obstacles or you will inherit an imprint.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
I am finding a relatively large number of boards with scratches on them coming right out of the box, many more than in past uses of this product. These are small scratches but on new wood these pieces cannot be used with out cutting them out. Judging from this sample, the quality control seems to be slipping.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
Not good for kitchen/dining room. We have all chair and table legs covered with felt caps (that we frequently have to replace because they dont stay on)
Floor scratches/dents much too easily =(
Also, the only way to clean well is on hands and knees.

i had 1700 sq ft professionally installed. as people noted, the pieces and bevels don't always exactly line up. looks pretty nice though, got about 1 box worth of really dark discolored pieces, otherwise fairly good out of 70 odd boxes.

Flooring looks good. Only time will tell. If you don't have all proper tools then dont try to install the floor yourself.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 5" Brazilian Cherry:
I did not put the flooring down myself, but the wood seemed to be of good quality. The contractor who installed it said that it was a little more difficult to install because of the tight grain, but I guess that is to be expected of Brazilian Cherry.

Q:
CAn you use a steam mop (no chemicals) to clean the floor1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Lumber Liquidators does not recommend "Water brooms" "Wet-Jet Swiffers or steamer type cleaners on laminates, corks or hardwood floors. Although steamers may work well cleaning OTHER types of hard surface flooring, the 130° to 240° heated steam vapor can ruin wood or urethane finish resulting in warped or cupped flooring. Water and wood do not mix well, especially steam. Use these products at your own risk.Q:
Many installers say that Brazilian Cherry 5" width must be nailed down and glued down together. They say that if it not glued down, the board is much more susceptible to change in humidity and can display wide gaps. I did not see glue down requirement in installation guide. So should I go for glue in addition to nails? Thanks!1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Normally hardwood, the width sizes of 2"-3 1/2" are referred to as strip floorings. Widths sizes 4"- 6" are referred to as boards and 8"- 12" are refereed to as Planks.Q:
Could rhis be used in Bathroom1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Wood flooring can be installed through out the home, but there are concerns about installation in bathrooms. Bathrooms are areas of high moisture. With full baths there are concerns with water spills, high humidity due to steamy showers, and toilet over flows. Elevated moisture in a full bath can create finish issues, board warping, and buckling. When installing in these areas extreme caution is advised and it is recommended to choose wood flooring with high stability. Make sure you have good air flow and use mats to absorb moisture when coming out of the tube or shower. Many wood floors will not be warranted in a bathroom application. An alternative would be our Tranquility vinyl Click flooring. The Tranquility vinyl click flooring looks like real wood, but will not be affected by moisture like wood floors.Q:
is the flooring normally installed under cabinets1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Flooring should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely. Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions. Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap.Q:
how wide of expansion gap should be used on 3/4 x 5 brazillian cherry floor installation ?1 answer
A:
A 3/4" expansion space should be left a the perimiter and any vertical obstruction.Q:
i put a rug on my floor in the first week now i have a big light spot if i remove the rug will it darken1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Brazilian Cherry (BC) is susceptible to UV light a like all wood flooring. BC more than some because of its dark color. Color-fastness is not a term used much with nature wood flooring. Stained flooring can be better because of the colored stain will provide more of a uniformity and lasting color. Natural color flooring on the other hand will change with age and exposure to UV light. These changes will even out with time but can be very apparent in the first months to year or so. Generally lighter colored woods can darken and darker woods lighten. Occasionally rotating rugs and furniture is recommended.Q:
What do you recommend to care for this floor? Mine has become hazy and lacks the original luster. It is damp mopped twice weekly.1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Our Bellawood floor cleaner does not contain any polishes ,wax or anything that will build on the surface and is recommended to be used on all our flooring products. I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that is reacting to the Bellawood cleaner. Most likely once the residue is removed from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
Is that true, brazilian cherry wood split when nailing to the floor?1 answer
A:
It can if the wrong size nails are used.Q:
Can this engineered brazilian cherry be put down with base board radient heat?1 answer

Yes you can!Q:
