Here are the before and after photos of the new floor we incorporated into the complete reno that we accomplished on our kitchen. We selected handscraped Tobacco Road Teak by Virginia Mill Works. The associates at your Conyers, GA store were great to work with and had excellent advice to offer. In less than a day we and with a little elbow grease we now have a kitchen floor that we are absolutely proud of. Thank you Lumber Liquidators, it was a pleasure working with you. Brian S. This product looks outstanding in my great room and kitchen, the boards are shorter than most hardwoods, but the look is worth it. I have nothing to complain about, the floors look better than I expected and have transformed our space.
Service and delivery comments:
I picked up so no delivery.
Product was in great condition, with little to no waste.

Almost impossible to not have gaps because every piece was not exact in with. If you don't mind gaps it's fine but if you like it perfect good luck.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 3/4" x 4-3/4" Tobacco Road Handscraped:
My husband installed this floor with the help of a friend. This was his first time installing hardwood and had no problems. It went in very easy. We have three dogs and it is not slippery as tradtional hardwood because it is handscraped. It does scratch just like any other hardwood. Because it is handscraped it hides the scratches very well. You can only see the scratches if you get down to floor level. Very easy to clean. We are very happy we chose this hardwood.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 3/4" x 4-3/4" Tobacco Road Handscraped:
Was a little worried about the wood being so hard. But installation was easy and I had minimal splitting. The compressor set at 80 psi seemed to work the best.
Was somewhat disapointed with the number of boards that had filler. If you want a floor that is uniform this is not the product for you. If you like a floor with a lot of character and variation you will probably like this floor.

Love love love this floor. Every person who has walked in our door has commented how beautiful it is. I will say I have a 65lb dog and it does scratch easily, but any wood floor is going to scratch.

My wife and I looked at wood flooring for over six months and continued to return to the Lee's Summit Missouri store and look at this product.
Had it installed last month and could not be happier with the floor. We love the choice we made. Jake and crew at the Lee's Summit store were great to work with. We did have the floor professionally installed. The contractor said it was about the best product he had ever worked with. We installed 950 sq ft in our living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway and master bedroom.
Thank you Lumber Liquidators for making our house become the home we always dreamed about.

I purchased 700 SqFt of this floor to do an addition and a kitchen remod. The finish scratches very easily. The floor is only 5 months old and looks like its been here for years. It's a real shame because this is a really beautiful wood floor.

Q:
We looked at this flooring this weekend. We really like it, but in the showroom there were some gaps between boards. The saleman said that is because they use scrap pieces in showrooms. But after reading some reviews on here other people seem to have this problem. Are these boards that inconsistent? Also, I have 1/2 inch partical board subfloor. Can I just pull that up and lay directly on top of 2x6 t&g decking.1 answer

Floor Gapping can be caused by several factors:Q:

can I get rid of the scratches on the top coat? I installed 1000sf this past weekend and on Monday my dogs jogged in and scratched the floor fairly significantly. Looks to be the top seal and not the wood. Looks terrible. I've had hardwood floors before and I know they scratch, but this seems to be a little excessive. Steel wool? really fine sandpaper? ??1 answer

how sun resistant is this floor1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Stained flooring can be better because of the colored stain will provide more of a uniformity and lasting color. Natural color flooring on the other hand will change with age and exposure to UV light. These changes will even out with time. There are no set levels for these natural changes.Q:
Would you recommend this flooring for homes with dogs.1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Q:
Hello,1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The top is finished with 7 coats of Treffert or Klumpp (made in Germany) highly resistant polyurethane finish with aluminum oxide anti-scratch and a 55% gloss. The rest is raw wood as it should be so the flooring can breath. Prefinished hardwood, bamboo, engineered, and laminate flooring should not be sealed after installation and does void the warranty. Sealing between boards (seams) will crack during normal expansion and contraction. In addition sealer won't adhere to original finish unless it's lightly sanded (Not Laminate) and then use a water based flooring grade urethane. Or you would use a Bona Kemi prefinished floor resealing product. Www.bonakemi.com. However this is not recommended for pre-finished flooring unless it is worn and in need of refinishing.Q:
I would like to install this on a concrete slab, walk out (below grade). Is the only option to use Elastion? Someone told me that I should/could use Mapei Eco 995...is this true that I can install on concrete below grade using Eco 995?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately solid glue down below grade is not recommended.Q:
I'm thinking about installing this floor. I live in MN, and the air is dry in November, but in the summer months it is humid. If installed in the dry weather what will the humidity to do it?1 answer

A:

Can this floor be installed over a radiant heated floor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Not recommended. Virginia Mill Works Engineered, because of it's dimensional stability, is a better choice.
