I purchased the Brazilian Teak flooring to install living room, dining room and staircase. I hired a professional installer and so glad that we did. This was a big project as the installer had to apply a floor sealer, moisture barrier, plywood, and flooring. The installation took a week and the floor is beautiful. I was a bit nervous as I had read that there was a lot of waste associated with the product. It was not the case. The installer has experience with the product and remark how solid the wood is and how he needs to take his time with the installation as nailing into the product requires precision due to its hardness. It cleaned up well and our home looks great. Planning to do upstairs hallway next year.

The store only had two cases left and offered me a great deal, both for less than what a case goes for. So, I used them in my bathroom instead of tile, it looks great and you won't believe the compliments I get. It just goes to show you never pass up a great deal at LL.

This is the third time we have had Brazilian Teak installed in our home. We now only have one room that does not have it. I had the main part of the house set on an angle, which adds to it's uniqueness. It is expensive (thus we have spread the project out), but it looks so rich, and I love that it holds various shades, as you do not get that "railroad" look. It can scratch, so you absolutely have to put pads under everything.

We had this floor professionally installed nearly three years ago in our post and beam "camp" and it is completely amazing. Love the color variations and long lengths. We have floor heat and the shrinkage is minimal. It is used in our kitchen dining, parlor and bedrooms and study. Has held up extremely well, not easily scratched and cleans up beautifully with a damp mop. We are thinking about installing in our third floor attic-game room. I would highly recommend this product to anybody who wants a beautiful floor with minimal upkeep. I have no cons to say

Had our kitchen remodeled and decided to put in hardwood flooring in living room, dining room, kitchen, office, stairway and hallway. Saw that Lumber Liquidators carried Bellawood and had to check it out (heard it was used in HGTV Dream Home). Fell in love with the teak right from the start. The color variations are beautiful. We had our floor professionally installed and it looks great. Everyone who has seen it has commented on how beautiful it looks.

I decided to do a re-model on my home by adding new flooring in the main floor with a kitchen re-model. My neighbor is a contractor and we asked him to do the installation for us. We knew we wanted hardwoods in the living room, hallway and dining room. He suggested hardwood would be good in the kitchen also. When we asked what to purchase he told us to go to Lumber Liquidators and buy Bellawood.
Our experience in the store when purchasing was great. The gentleman we spoke with was an installer for Lumber Liquidators. He gave us very helpful information and answered all of our questions.
The floors came in when promised and communication regarding that was good and timely. My husband went to pick them up and all went as planned.
After making the initial purchase my neighbor said we should add bullnose. I called the store and it was added to my order over the phone. There was no change in the delivery time of my original order and there were no errors during pickup.
I have not had my floors for very long but I do not see any problems with them in the future. I had a very positive experience with Lumber Liquidators and would be happy to recommend them to friends looking for hardwood flooring.

I am completing a job a contractor was unable to finish.
The gap left between my ceramic kitchen tiling and my installed 3/4" solid Bellawood Brazilian teak is not always uniform, such that my purchased 'T shaped, mushroom head' transition piece's tongue does not easy fit into the space. Do you recommend trimming ( with a router) the floor, or trimming the transition piece? Additionally, adhesive type and surface of application recommendation would be appreciated.

I have 3 dogs, two of them large, and a Bellawood Hickory floor and it has held up great to 5 years of hard playing. Nothing is scratch proof and there are nail marks (slight dents) but the finish does not scratch off but rather keeps wood sealed. Harder floors like hickory (41% harder than Red Oak) or exotic floors will dent less easily and light colors hide scratches easier than dark because of contrast. I don't care about keeping the flooring flawless because I understand the limitations of wood flooring. We keep the dog nails trimmed which is very helpful, if I wanted to keep the flooring flawless I would have vinyl dog booties and only socks and sneakers on the flooring. However, real life doesn't isn't always that careful so I simply relax, keep it swept, and clean with Bellawood Cleaner once a month and I could not be happier with my floor. Light colors will hide potential scratches. Remember nothing is scratch proof but some do better than others.
Our higher warranty Laminate flooring holds up well to dog nails and wear but cannot be refinished. Advantage is it's less expensive both for product and labor. Higher Warranty the better.
Our Schon engineered flooring has 7 coats of Treffert or Klumpp (made in Germany) highly resistant polyurethane finish with aluminum oxide anti-scratch and a 55% gloss. Being a natural material it may dent easier than laminate but it's real wood. Engineered can be refinished carefully once or twice.
For Bamboo our Morning Star brand has a similar finish that Schon and Bellawood has and offers the hardest type of bamboo floor produced, "Strand Bamboo". It can be refinished too but only by professionals with bamboo experience as it's a grass product and more difficult than hardwood. Stranded would be my only choice if going with bamboo.
Resilient Vinyl flooring is a very tough floor and the most resistant against damp areas.
Regardless of the floor you choose, keeping nails trimmed is a good idea. Another idea is to cover nails with vinyl claw covers.
Proper care always helps. For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often. Urine, when cleaned up quick isn't an issue but if left to dry it can burn finish.

We do not generally recommend hardwood for bathrooms because of the moisture involved.
Wood flooring can be installed through out the home, but there are concerns about installation in bathrooms. Bathrooms are areas of high moisture. With full baths there are concerns with water spills, high humidity due to steamy showers, and toilet over flows. Elevated moisture in a full bath can create finish issues, board warping, and buckling. When installing in these areas extreme caution is advised and it is recommended to choose wood flooring with high stability. Make sure you have good air flow and use mats to absorb moisture when coming out of the tube or shower. Many wood floors will not be warranted in a bathroom application. An alternative would be our Tranquility vinyl Click flooring. The Tranquility vinyl click flooring looks like real wood, but will not be affected by moisture like wood floors.

It is also warranted against grading, finishing and milling defects in excess of the waste factor. Waste factor is an industry term that refers to an allowance for manufacturing and natural defects in flooring and is represented by a percentage. While board selection may vary according to personal preference, waste is determined by NWFA standards. Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products.
