We LOVE our floor! We couldn't have picked a better color/wood. The Bellawood is as perfect as it comes, amazing how all of the pieces fit so well together! Easy to install. The boards were straight (or so close to it that it made little difference; i.e., the floor stapler drove the few slightly non-straigtht boards into a perfectly straight position). Defects were few. The result: A beautiful room (actually, 2 beautiful rooms)!

Excellent value, select grade was truly select - very little scrap in box - but we found a few that were milled inaccurately - narrow or too tall - check each piece for match with neighbors before you nail! The finish seems quite durable so far.

This flooring is a very durable wood. The color is a little light throughout. I would consider using the premium instead of the select. The premium has more color variations which helps hide any imperfections.

I was amazed as to how the rooms look more bright. We went with the Ash Select, as our different wood furnishings and railings are darker.

I love the lightness of the solid ash floor. the 3/4 x 3 1/4 is contemporary and elegant in the select grade. It has the light color like a maple with a more pronounced grain pattern. In the select the hard swirling grain pattern has a unique shimmer to it. The only negative is that it's light color is not for all tastes.

Nice strait boards were very easy to install. The light color is awesome and the grain looks great. We did have to be careful not to nail down the defective boards and ugly boards that were randomly scattered in the boxes (unfortunately, after we got our mojo going, I missed a few boards with chipped corners and other defects on the surface and installed 2 boards with nasty marks.)The staff at [...] in Manchester, NH was great to work with. The product was available when they said it would be and they went out of their way to find me an extra-long stair step molding for the step down into my living room (over 7 feet long.) Oh, and the price was good too.The installed floor looks awesome, cleans-up easily and has exceeded our expectations.

I am considering purchasing this product for a large and open Great Room measuring 15.5' x 35'. Firstly, my Great Room is very bright--what kind of finish is on this and will excessive exposure to the sun be an issue with this selection? Secondly, what kind of "edge" is on this product--both at the edge and end joints--beveled, eased or squared? I have heard pros and cons regarding each one: (1) beveled: unique look but the largest of the void between boards where dirt can settled; (2) eased: easy to work with limited space between boards, but still where dirt can get trapped; (3) squared: clean even look on all edges with no trapping of dirt, but some reviews claim that might not be good because dirt has no where to go and can scratch the floor, squared edge shows imperfections more and can sometimes make the floor finish look more like a laminate than hardwood. This Bellawood product has 8 layers of ultra-violet cured water-based urethane with aluminum oxcide. All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. The edges are beveled.Answered on 4/6/2011 by customer care 2

All of our pre-finished products are end matched and have a tongue and groove on both the sides and ends.
