The only negative is that you can see the glue in-between the wood slats - it could be a little "tighter."

              Cons

              • Found Voids Inside Cuts

              • Not Perfectly Planed

              • Countertop
              • Tabletop

The wood was beautiful and took an oil finish really well. Some gaps in the wood were pre-puttied, but not all.
Found several interior voids at cut lines.
Surface had some small waves as if it had been spot sanded instead on planed as a whole.

You have to finish & cut the countertop yourself. The biggest selling point is the beauty, but the guys at Lumber Liq made it so easy!!

                                      A:

Sections can be joined together when cut at a 45 degree angle or square.

Two sections can be joined together.

                                      1) For a good glue edge bond; using a straight edge guide and saw cut/recut 1/2"or so off one side of each.

                                      2) For center support and strength; Use a biscuit jointer or doweling jig, then wood glue the edges and bar-clamp until dry, re-sand. Add a beam to the counter to help support the seam joint.

The only way would be to buy two 8' butcher blocks and split the difference. Please call our Tech and Installation Dept. @ (800) 366-4204 if you have any further questions.

I want a wooden countertop with a Ogee edge. Can this be done with the butcher block countertops you sell?

No, however this can be achieved on site.

Two sections can be joined together.

                                      1) For a good glue edge bond; using a straight edge guide and saw recut 1/2"or so off one side of each.

                                      2) For center support and strength; Use a biscuit jointer or doweling jig, then wood glue the edges and bar-clamp until dry, re-sand. Add a beam to the counter to help support the seam joint.
