Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6' New England White Pine:

We bought approximately 2200 SF for flooring in our house we're building. We typically are DIYers but due to time constraints, hired a professional to install. Initially, our pro was not pleased with the product. He noted, and we agreed, that the side with chamfers appeared to be more "finished" than the flush, flooring side. He also was not pleased with the imperfections (noted by LL in description as knots) and showed us that the bigger issue was not the knots, but ragged edges on the sides of the board that if left would create divets in our floor to catch toes and dirt. These ragged edges were an issue as were edges damaged from the tie downs. LL does note that these boards come open and unboxed. By that they mean that the tie downs are clamped pretty tightly and can damage boards.

Our pro also mentioned that when cutting off damaged areas, you have to make sure that you get a square cut so that the floorboards lie flush.

So, the 10% estimate on throw-aways due to imperfections was higher for us.

However, after installation was complete, our pro told us that the flooring lies very well and is easily installed, and we are pleased with the end result.

We still plan to rent a drum sander and edger to sand the entire surface put down 2-3 coats of poly. This is to protect the floor and our feet rather than to achieve a specific look. So, know that you're getting into some work. Time and labor intensive, but it's the cheapest solid wood floors we've found and we're pleased with the look.

We actually used this lumber for planking out ceilings and walls. We used a whitewash color stain and it came out so beautiful!! The ceiling is light, bright and rustic. The boards were all in very good condition. No pieces of waste. This was a fairly easy project. We plan to use it in every room.

I am in the process of covering some interior walls in my home with this product. I have put up about 100 square feet so far and have had very little waste. I got this product for $1.29 a square foot and it is worth more than every penny. It is very easy to install. All the boards are straight and true. There are some knots, but that is to be expected. They just add character to the installation.

            Service and delivery comments:

I ordered this on a Monday and the product was available for pickup on that Friday. The store staff was very helpful helping me get it loaded.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6' New England White Pine:

I ordered this flooring about 3 years ago when it was only 0.99 a sq. ft. We used all of what we ordered. Yes, there was some less than perfect planks but it was the look that I was going for. We had ordered a lot of extra because everyone was saying that there would be a lot of waste. We even ripped up the basement carpeting and put this flooring in the basement. The basement took a little more work because we put subflooring in, and by subflooring I just mean we bought the subfloor and just set it on top of basement concrete and we did not glue it down. We bought the cheapest rolls of the moisture barrier stuff and put it down too before nailing the flooring to the sub flooring, we have had no warping of any kind. The scratches and chunks taken out of the floors by my rough family is pretty easily taken care of and ads more character to the flooring :-) I am going to order more to redo flooring in a rental unit because it is cheaper in the long run and looks nicer than carpeting or laminate. I JUST WISH IT WAS STILL 0.99 PER SQ FT!!!

Installed in two bedrooms, over original plank subfloor in my 1927 bungalow. I installed with an air nailer and sanded with a combination of a 6" random orbit sander and a palm sander. I didn't sand it flat.
Stained it with Espresso Minwax and used high build poly to finish one room (not so good) and quick dry poly to finish the other (much better, imo). I like it so much, I'm thinking about doing my living room with it as well.

I think the pine I got is actually designed for wall installs, not flooring. It has a tongue and groove that doesn't match tightly for floor use. I got something that I could have just bought locally, so I am disappointed. I can't use this pine for flooring. So, I will have to use for wall possibly.

the description states "one length". What is the length? I would like to know if this will be suitable for a vertical Wainscotting at ~40" but I do not want vertical joints.

                    CLOVER LEA PLANTATION- 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 6'.
6' is equal to 6 feet or 72" (so you would be wasting 32" per plank).
                    I would recommend SKU: 10005896: CLOVER LEA PLANTATION- 3/4" x 5-1/8" x 8' for less waste.

Can you let me know what are the exact specifications of the boards? I am looking for the width with the tongue, and the width of the board facing itself (without the tongue) I am trying to match it up to boards already installed so these are essential.

Actual face width is 5-1/8", the tongue is an additional 1/4" so total would be 5- 5/16"

Is there a reason that there is not tongue and groove on the ends. Can I use a router to make tongue and groove on the ends?

I read the Installation guide. For Underlayments, do I choose one out of all six listed? Or do I use a couple from the list, at the same time? For example, do I use the Felt Paper AND Bellawood Premium? Or can I select just Bellawood Premium (as long as subflooring meets 3/8" thickness requirement)? We're new to flooring. thanks!

What side should be facing up? Should the grove between the boards not face down? What is the purpose of the grove? (not sure if I'm using the correct terminology).
