  • Q:

Is the butcher block counter reversable? In other words, if I cut an 8ft length in half on a 45 degree diagonal can I turn one half over to join up for a 90 degree corner?
Asked on 10/17/2014 by do it ourselves

      A:

Yes it is possible, but there is always one side (face) that has a better appearance and you will see the difference in color, grade and possibly more gaps on the non-face side.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

From one of the customer supplied pictures, the builder's grade island countertop appears to have a plywood or some other type of wood core with maple strips on the top and the bottom. Is that the case?

I would recommend consulting a carpenter or cabinet- maker to be sure you build something that is safe.
Some home centers sell furniture legs that are designed for kitchen tables taht could work.
