  No it will get ruined if it gets wet.
  I would recommend one of our vinyl Tranquility products for this area.

I am trying to install this product in a 2nd story condominium. There are flooring restrictions because of noise. Can Cork Flooring capable of providing equal noise dampening when installed on an above grade concrete subfloor ?

  A couple of things to mention; you will need a moisture (6 mil poly) barrier and the max temp on the surface of the slab cannot exceed 85 degrees for the life of the floor.

I'm thinking of using cork in my kitchen. Is there any issues I need to worry about. Is there a coating that should be used. Also any special up keep for cork flooring.

- A:
  Cork flooring will work great in a kitchen and many of our customers have used it in that area with great success. Our cork flooring comes with several layers of water base finish, but after installation you will need to add two more coats of a water base floor finish to seal the entire floor. This will help protect the cork seams from spills and moisture. After that is all done to keep a good looking floor use a dust mop for everyday cleaning and the Bellawood floor cleaner to add a little more luster to the flooring. It is also a good idea to use mats at the sink or under a kitchen table to help absorb water that may splash out from the sink. Q:
Want to use Porto Cork over concrete, mastix, and tile squares that do not have grout between the tiles. There is a tiny indention where the tiles fit together. Where the tiny indentions are will the cork sink down into those after use. Should I use an underlayment to keep it from happening? I want to use the floor for comfort, keep my feet warmer than the ceramic tile. Could some one answer in a few days? Today is 6/9/11

  • Take reasonable precautions; use a dolly and protective sheets of plywood when moving heavy objects such as furniture and appliances.
  • Place protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and dents. Check and replace wore pads regularly.

Can this product be put on a concrete floor basement without a dry-lock system. There has never been any water that has come in either through the floors or walls.

  Our instructions require a 6 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier to be layed for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall.
