  Our installation instructions address in floor radiant heat, but have not been tested over a unit with ceiling heat.
  Unfortunately I am unable to make a recommendation for this application.
  Radiant Heat Systems (all installation methods)
  General Precautions and Recommendations Always use moisture barriers.
  Engineered flooring can be successfully applied over in-floor radiant heat. Know the species you intend to use and how it may interact with radiant heat. Not all species are recommended for this installation, choose species highest in stability ratings for this application. Brazilian Cherry is not recommended.
  Because of the wide array of systems on the market, each with its own features, please consult with your radiant flooring provider for recommended installation methods. Hydronic systems must include in-floor temperature sensors and an outdoor thermostat that allows the system to adjust the water temperature according to anticipated heat loss. Radiant heat contributes to the drying out of all woods. Use of a humidification system may be required to maintain the proper humidity level. The indoor relative humidity must be maintained between 30-50% year round. Failure to do so can result in edge cupping, squeaking delamination, splintering, or face checking.

I realize that solid Brazilian Cherry flooring is generally not recommended for use over radiant flooring, but what about this engineered product? This would be applied over Warmboard substrate http://www.warmboard.com/ which typically yields even temperature distribution. Additionally the radiant system in question is regulated to a maximum water temperature of 130 F.

  Unfortunately we do not recommend this BELLAWOOD Engineered 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered flooring over radiant heat.
  Our Schon Brazilian Cherry products are warrantied to go over radiant heated floors.

  A:
  The good: excellent finish (our best) and dent resistant because of it's hardness. The bad: dark floors show scratching more than light. Regardless of the floor you choose, keeping nails trimmed is a good idea. Another idea is to cover nails with "vinyl claws covers".

We need another 200 sq. ft of this type, also 1/2" x 5", but what we currently have in an unfinished room is the DISCONTINUED Thomasville Jatoba Engineered (Brazilian Cherry) from a large/popular big box Home hardware retailer. Can you tell me if this would be a 'close enough' match? thank you!!
