I wish we could have matched the birch hardwood floor a little better, but this was the best the sales team could get me.

Maple Stair nose didn't fit

About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
I had to renotch the nosing with the table saw and shim it by ~1/32" just to get a flush fit to the maple flooring. Seems since Bella wood makes both the flooring and the nosing, they would work right the first time. But that was not the case. I did however read other reviews on this and knew what I was in for and had the tools and skills to get it to work. So don't even try unless you are good with a table saw.It was also a bit pricy. If I had more time I would have bought unfinished online and finished it myself. Also only available in 6' lengths. So I have some real expensive firewood for that second half.

this stairs nose was a great match to the clear maple flooring I had.
nice, beautiful color, BUT..
from Plaistow, New Hampshire
We bought 3/4 maple flooring from another brand. We were sold the bellawood maple nosing because the other brand did not make nosings. Just be careful before purchasing. The bellawood nosing is actually 1/16 smaller, so now there is a fine bump from the hardwood to the nosing, just enough to catch your toes after coming up or down the stairs. Because we were told it was the same, it is already cut and installed, so we cannot return it. Im sure we could get creative with some wood filler, but the idea was to not have to do that.
Maple Stair nose with Hickory Floor
from Lansing, MI
There was some slight marks on the one end of the piece, with impact into the finish, which made that end questionable. However, I only needed the piece for 1 stair nose, so was able to have that end be waste. It would be nice if I could buy this by the foot, instead of the entire 7 foot piece, when I only needed 32 inches. The Maple stair nose coloring matched my natural hickory floors well, and they had it in stock instead of having to order it
Works on ramps, too!

I used this as an edge on either side of a ramp. Worked great and really improved the look of the room!
Does not match flooring
Did not match the natural maple floors I bought from LL eventhough I was told it would match. Very unfair because they don't let you look at it before taking it out of the store.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not quiet 3/4"
from San Francisco, CA
We used this for a landing (single step up) to the door. All four of the ones we bought were about 1/16th of an inch thinner than the matching 3/4" flooring. I had to run it through the table saw to widen the groove so the tongue it was mating against would fit. In retrospect, I should have cut a 1/16th" thick shim to underlay it.
